 IRL Web3 Hackathon

Inspired by the fusion of culture, technology, and community, we believe that the future of web3 is built on the foundation of shared values and inclusive participation. 

Before hopping into the tracks below, please take some time to review and consider the following guidance. Each project should strive to answer these questions for judges 👇 

   Who is behind your project?

  If yes, what are you doing differently?

  For the benefit of the judges  

Clearly state your business objectives, delineate a strategy, suggest a model and articulate the roadmap. On that note, here are the judging criteria: 

1. Innovation and Creativity (25%) = Originality of the idea + Creative application of Web3 technologies.
2. Technical Complexity (25%) = Level of technical challenge + Effective use of Web3 tools and platforms.
3. Functionality and Usability (20%) =  How well the project functions + User experience and ease of use.
4. Impact and Potential (20%) = Potential real-world impact + Scalability and future growth potential.
5. Presentation and Demo (10%) = Clarity and effectiveness of the presentation + Quality of the project demonstration.

  Submission Guidelines

Hackers submit their project with a form including the project name, participants, description, details, bounties applying to, presentation (Google Slides) or video (YouTube unlisted), Github repository and live demo link. This will also serve to showcase projects in the ETHDublin website in reference to previous events.

 All presentations will be broadcast from the same device on the stage.

Each team has 7 minutes to present their project. We recommend 4 minutes for presenting and 3 minutes for judge questioning. The moderator will announce when 1 minute is left and when time is up.

  Objectives

Often your best use of time is weaving as many bounties into one track as possible to optimise for rewards.

The only limitations are the time we've allotted and your ingenuity.

  Our Vision

Ireland is a vibrant financial tech hub, juxtaposed with vulnerable and inefficient digital public services. 

We urgently need better solutions to transcend this paradox, innovating for the interest of the public. Although Web3 is no panacea, there are opportunities to bridge public and private sectors with more transparent infrastructure.

  Bounties

☘️ Irish-based challenges include:

npayme

npayme Promote is a tool to support the distributed promotion of a user action; our initial release promotes fundraising (donation) causes. The creator of an npayme Promote fundraising campaign and the affiliates who spread word of it to their networks may each earn a small commission for each donation via a feature called “share and earn”.  Watch this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhOnoqFsniU) that walks through how to create and use an npayme Promote campaign.

The current release supports the donation of USDC on Ethereum, Polygon, and zkSync Era. Funds are distributed to the creator, affiliates, and the beneficiary, but nothing is delivered to the donor (payer). It’s a decentralized GoFundMe campaign, with incentives for affiliates.

Our next release will deliver an NFT (Ethereum, Polygon, or zkSync Era) to the person making a payment. The bounty task includes three components; solutions supporting more than one of those three chains will be ranked more highly):

• Upon the payment of a minimum creator-specified amount of USDC, an existing NFT is automatically transferred to the payer’s wallet. (4,000 USDC for the three best solutions - 1,500USDC, 1,000USDC, 500USDC)
• Bonus: Mint a new NFT for delivery to the payer’s wallet. (USD$700 of NPAY tokens for the three best solutions - USD$400, USD$200, USD$100 of NPAY tokens at launch)
• Bonus: Deliver the NFT to a specified account visible on OpenSea. (USD$250 of NPAY tokens at launch)
• Bonus: Create your own npayme Promote campaign and enlist five affiliates to spread the word and earn for your campaign. (USD$200 of NPAY tokens at launch to the first three campaigns)

Your challenge for the ETH Dublin Hackathon is to build a blockchain solution within one of our selected emerging tech industries, then after this in-person hackathon you’ll have the opportunity to continue development on Solana with support from our UK team for submitting to future Colosseum Online Hackathons, and the current live Bonkathon which has $350k in prizes up for grabs (bonus opportunity for AI projects with Encode Club Online AI Hack)

Winners of the Colosseum hackathons may also be accepted into Colosseum’s accelerator program, and have the opportunity to secure $250k in pre-seed funding for their project with access to Solana’s top mentors like Anatoly, Raj, Mert and more.

Judging criteria

• Impact: Does the proposed problem make sense or be helpful to anyone? How large is the effect on the Solana ecosystem?
• Solution: How clever is the solution? The rule of thumb is the less code a solution requires, the better it is
• Completeness: How far is the code base from production?
• Applications: How does your AI solution apply to blockchain, and utilise the innovative features of Solana
