<h2>WebFusion Lagos 2023 Code of Conduct</h2><h2>Introduction</h2>Welcome to WebFusion Lagos 2023! This set of guidelines outlines our expectations regarding participant behavior.<h3>Section I: General Etiquette</h3>Respect: All participants are expected to treat one another with respect. Any form of harassment or discrimination will lead to immediate removal from the event, future event bans, and notification of the necessary authorities.Professionalism: Maintain a high standard of professionalism. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and will result in immediate removal and future bans.No Sales or Solicitation: Direct recruitment or aggressive selling is not allowed. Emphasis should be on collaboration and fostering relationships.<h3>Section II: Event-Specific Instructions</h3>Attendees: Each participant must register individually. Guests are not permitted unless special arrangements are made.Punctuality: Please arrive on time for all scheduled activities to minimize disruptions.<h3>Section III: Technology &amp; Facilities</h3>Wi-Fi Usage: High-speed Wi-Fi is accessible. Misuse of this service will result in immediate removal and future bans.Recording: Talks will not be recorded due to logistical constraints. Unauthorized recording is prohibited.<h3>Section IV: Food &amp; Drinks</h3>Consumption: Food and beverages are provided for all participants. Please be considerate of allergies and dietary restrictions.Substance Use: Alcohol is not allowed on the premises. Cannabis and tobacco use may be enjoyed outside by those legally permitted to do so.<h3>Section V: Promotional Activities &amp; Advertising</h3>Material Distribution: If you intend to distribute promotional materials, please seek approval from us in advance.Branding: Unauthorized use of WebFusion Lagos 2023 branding is not allowed.<h3>Section VI: Reporting &amp; Penalties</h3>Reporting: If you witness or experience unacceptable conduct, please promptly report it to event staff.Penalties: Unacceptable behavior will lead to immediate removal from the event, bans from future events, and notification of authorities. <h2>Hackathon Rules</h2><h3>Build without limits, but follow the rules!</h3>These are the hackathon rules, please respect them without exception.<ul><li>Maximum of 5 people per team.</li><li>You can fork other existing components but you must make significant changes</li><li>Anyone can enter before the submission deadline.</li><li>The judges' decision is final in determining the winning projects for prizes and awards.</li><li>Please respect our Code of Conduct</li></ul><h3>Submission Requirements</h3><ul><li>All projects must be submitted via Taika platform</li><li>All components must be published to mainnet (if you need tokens contact Victor Kanu: DevHub DevRel)</li><li>You must submit your submission with a demo</li></ul><h3>Evaluation Factors</h3>Projects will be evaluated based on technical ability, usefulness as a product, originality, and likelihood to scale into the BOS or a business. WebFusion Lagos 2023Blockchain development often involves an overcomplicated onboarding process and the requirement to learn various programming languages such as Solidity, Rust, Cadence and more. This steep learning curve has presented a formidable barrier to entry whereas we believe that shouldn't be the case.  WebFusion aim's bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3 by providing developers with a seamless transition into this exciting space using the <a href="https://docs.near.org/bos" target="_blank">BOS</a> (Blockchain Operating System). From November 27th to November 30th 2023 at the ALX Hub in ITF Training Complex Iponri Lagos, Web developers in Lagos Nigeria will leverage their experience in Javascript and React to start building components and decentralized apps on the BOS. With BOS, developers don't need to learn any new programming languages to start building fully decentralized dApps.Our primary goal is to educate, inspire innovation, and foster collaboration within the existing tech community in Nigeria.<h2>Goals</h2>NEAR, BOS, and BeyondDiscover the endless possibilities that BOS offers developers, builders, and creators. What is WebFusion Lagos 2023?WebFusion is a three-day hackathon held in Lagos, Nigeria. Bridging the gap between Web2 and Web3 technologies by introducing developers to NEAR's Blockchain Operating System. The event is fostered by a community partnership between NEAR and ALX Africa.  Who can attend?This event is targeted at creative minds with a technical profile, including but not limited to ALX graduates, web developers, artists, tech enthusiasts and more  How are applicants selected?The Hackathon is open to developers from all backgrounds  Register in groups?No. Candidates must register and apply individually. Do you cover transportation and/or accommodation costs?No, but there may be discounts and partnerships announced closer to the event date. Can I bring a guest to the event?All attendees must apply to the event individually or register on the first day of the event  I registered but can't attend the event. What do I do?This is a hybrid hackathon. If you're unable to make it to the venue, you can partake online! When will the schedule be available?A detailed schedule will be maintained under the Timeline tab.  Will there be a live stream from the event?Due to logistical constraints, live streaming will not be available. Will the talks be recorded?Yes. Talks will be recorded  Is there food and beverages at the event?Food and drinks will be provided for free to all attendees. We'll be providing breakfast and lunch. There will also be snacks and beverages available. Is there Wi-Fi at the event?Yes, high-speed Wi-Fi will be available throughout the venue.
