⏱️  TIMELINE

Registration Phase:  December 3 - January 10

Every team should select a team lead. Then, each member should use the TAIKAI platform to register or the hackathon as an innovator.  The team lead should also use the TAIKAI platform to create a project and add team members to it.

Once you have done this, you should also select a name for your team that includes the name of your company and then another noun. For example, an OutSystems team could be called “OutSystems Geeks” or “OutSystems Warriors”.

After you have completed all the steps, send to the organizers ([email protected]) an email with the following information:

  1. Team name
  2. Organisation name
  3. All team members full names, email address (emails should be the ones used for the creation of the OutSystems Community profile), home address (to send swag) and T-shirt size
  4. Additional option to include a new OutSystems developer into the team (check the “rules” tab if you want to know more)

Once registration is closed, teams will be informed about whether they are selected. Selection will depend on the validity of the registration. For registration to be considered valid, all teams need to follow the instruction listed in the “Rules” section.

Ideation Phase: January 18 - 24

SPRINT 0

The hackathon consists of 5 sprints of approximately 1 week each.

It will start with a Live Hackathon Kick-Off scheduled for January 18, 2021. Apart from the introductions, this will be an opportunity for the nonprofits to present their challenges and requirements for the solution. Make sure at least one of your team members is participating.

During the first week, sprint 0, the teams will be able to connect with the institutions and discuss the problems and possible solutions.

Growth Phase: January 25 - February 8

SPRINT 1 AND 2

The growth phase will take place during Sprint 1 and 2. This is the time to further develop your idea.

At the end of sprint 1, on February 1, 2021, and at the end of sprint 2, on February 8, 2021, each team will present a demo of their progress. Bear in mind the selection criteria: applicability of the solution, tech quality, UX/UI quality, demo quality.

After the demo of sprint 2, a pre-selection takes place, eliminating two of the five teams for each institution. Only the top three projects per non-profit will move to the Development Phase. In this period the participants can not update their project submission under any circumstance.

Development Phase: February 9 - 22

SPRINT 3 AND 4

The development phase will take place during Sprint 3 and 4. This is the time to further develop your prototype!

At the end of sprint 3, on February 15, 2021, each team will present a demo of their progress.

At the end of sprint 4, on February 22, 2021, there will be a live final presentation. Bear in mind the selection criteria: applicability of the solution, tech quality, UX/UI quality, and demo quality.

To complement your presentation, you can provide all the project materials and a succinct description that clarifies all the projects’ purpose to meet the challenges proposed. Upload demos, images, screenshots, videos, diagrams to help the judges to evaluate your project and increase your chances to win.

If you have any questions about the competition, please email [email protected] explaining your issue. We are here to help you!

Evaluation Phase: February 23 - 24

SPRINT 5

This is the period that our selected group of juries will assess the delivered project submissions and vote for winners following the evaluation criteria defined on the “Rules” section.

On February 22, there will be a pitch session with the nine finalists, where each team will present their solutions to the jury. In this period, the participants can not update their project submission under any circumstance.
