<h2 id="fightcovid19openchallenge">Fight COVID-19 Open Challenge</h2><p><br></p><h2 id="english">🇬🇧 English</h2><p><br></p><p><strong>Are you ready to fight Coronavirus?</strong><strong>&nbsp;Participate in this open collaboration effort to solve social Crisis and Challenges behind Coronavirus Epidemics.</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Fight COVID-19 Open Challenge is an open collaboration effort in which volunteers, designers, students, researchers, computer scientists, health workers, startups, software developers, business developers and others will cooperate and produce creative solutions which can help fight against the current epidemic of COVID-19.</p><h2><br></h2><h2 id="goal">Goal</h2><ul><li>Create technological solutions to help health professionals to deal with the huge amount of patients that are clogging our health services.</li><li>Create concise informational (infographics, videos, written) materials to raise awareness about the virus transmission
and spreading factors, epidemic geographic focal points and the right measures to circumvent the transmission.</li><li>To call on more people to participate and create works including product prototypes, coding, user experience design, and business or social impact models to combat the COVID-19 epidemic.</li><li>To encourage social innovation so that we can help the fight against the epidemic with open collaboration and hence create shared value among volunteers, institutions, businesses enterprises, and platforms.</li></ul><h2 id="theme">Theme</h2><p><br></p><p>The Coronavirus outbreak has become one of the biggest threats to the global economy. In this context, we feel it is crucial to launch a call to all the entrepreneurs, creatives and problem solvers to act against this crisis. All the participants should work together to create and submit one or more proposals as a project describing the problem that you want to solve, your solutions, the technical details and the effort required to launch the project to the public audience.</p><p><br></p><p>The following <a href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZrBVZrVjY3IFHkluRmaAETEs-QxlsuZ_OjxBTav6aNs/edit#gid=0">Google Sheet</a> is a shared document with a list of resources about the Corona Virus.</p><p><br></p><p>During our preliminary research we identified three main categories of problems that we think it needs to be addressed as the output on this challenge:</p><h3><br></h3><h3 id="epidemicanalytics">Epidemic Analytics</h3><p>Data analytics, epidemic spread modelling, data simulation related to the global COVID-19 outbreak. All kinds of deliverables (graphs, infographics, mobile applications) that help the people to be informed about the current sanitary situation, help the scientists to identify the virus characteristics and spreading factors. The project should use any validated source of information as this source of truth. We encourage you to use the governmental sources of data apply statistical and machine learning techniques to identify trends and make valuable assumptions.</p><h3><br></h3><h3 id="health">Health</h3><p>In this category, people are encouraged to develop applications that might help our health services to deal with the huge amount of patients that are clogging our health services and making the life of our health workers miserable. As entrepreneurs and consumers, we should propose better tracking, screening flows that can help our doctors and nurses to track possible infected patients in a fair and efficient way.</p><p>These are some possible sectors that might be improved:</p><ul><li>Hospital Human Resources Management (Doctors, Nurses, Volunteers, etc.)</li><li>Covid-19 Patient Screening with Chatbots and Machine learning flows</li><li>Hospital Warehousing and logistics optimized models</li></ul><h3 id="coronavirusanalyticsbydatascienceforsocialgood">CoronaVirus Analytics by Data Science for Social Good</h3><p>This category was devised by <a href="https://www.dssg.pt">DSSG Portugal</a> community and aims to produce projects to :</p><ul><li>Showcasts the impact of quarantine in Portugal</li><li>Study the impact of the outbreak on SNS24&rsquo;s Public Data</li><li>Coronavirus Topic Modeling and Sentiment Analysis</li><li>Analyse the Economic , Environment and Traffic impact of isolation measures</li></ul><p>They provided very insightful <a href="https://github.com/dssg-pt/covid19pt-data/tree/master/extra">open source data</a> that could be used to create projects on this category.</p><p><br></p><p>The full details about the this category could be found <a href="https://taikai.network/taikai/challenges/covid-19/categories/data-science-for-social-good-portugal">here</a>.</p><h3><br></h3><h3 id="covid19informationmaterials">COVID-19 Information Materials</h3><p>In this category, a more creative thinking approach is required to produce materials that can inform the population in a precise and scientific way. The participants are encouraged to gather and prepare information, propose distribution channels and elaborate a plan to reach the final consumer of their proposal.</p><p>These are some types of deliverables identified for this category:</p><ul><li>Creation of video or music</li><li>Visual design (posters, articles, information graphs, etc.)</li><li>Novel applications based on streaming or social media platform</li></ul><p>These categories serve as a guide to the proposals, notwithstanding if you have other issues that you think that might be addressed, feel free to submit your project and outline the issue that you are trying to solve.</p><p><br></p><h2 id="deliverables">Deliverables</h2><p><br></p><p>All project resources (source code, designs, presentation, documentation, sketches, etc.) must be submitted as a TAIKAI Project. All submissions must be in English or Portuguese and must be the original work of the submitter team.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Project Description with:</strong></p><ul><li>COVID-19 category addressed;</li><li>A description that includes a brief explanation of what the solution is and what problem is it tackling;</li><li>Screenshots or pictures from the Application;</li><li>Source Code link;</li><li>Technology stack or services used;</li><li>User Target Profile (Age, Gender, Profession, etc.).</li></ul><p><strong>Attachments and Resources:</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Slide Presentation about the project;

Todos os tipos de meios de entrega (gr&aacute;ficos, infogr&aacute;ficos, aplica&ccedil;&otilde;es m&oacute;veis) que ajudam as pessoas a serem informadas sobre a atual situa&ccedil;&atilde;o sanit&aacute;ria, ajudam os cientistas a identificar as caracter&iacute;sticas do v&iacute;rus e os fatores de propaga&ccedil;&atilde;o. O projeto dever&aacute; usar qualquer fonte de informa&ccedil;&atilde;o validada como fonte de verdade. Recomendamos que use as fontes governamentais de dados, aplique t&eacute;cnicas estat&iacute;sticas e de aprendizagem com m&aacute;quinas, para identificar tend&ecirc;ncias e fazer suposi&ccedil;&otilde;es valiosas.</p><h3><br></h3><h3 id="sade">Sa&uacute;de</h3><p>Nesta categoria, as pessoas s&atilde;o incentivadas a desenvolver aplica&ccedil;&otilde;es que possam ajudar os nossos servi&ccedil;os de sa&uacute;de a lidar com a enorme quantidade de pacientes que est&atilde;o a obstruir os nossos servi&ccedil;os de sa&uacute;de e a tornar a vida dos nossos profissionais de sa&uacute;de miser&aacute;vel. Os participantes s&atilde;o incentivados a reunir e preparar informa&ccedil;&otilde;es, propor canais de distribui&ccedil;&atilde;o e elaborar um plano para alcan&ccedil;ar o consumidor final da sua proposta.</p><p>Estes s&atilde;o alguns tipos de meios de entrega identificados para esta categoria:</p><ul><li>Cria&ccedil;&atilde;o de v&iacute;deo ou m&uacute;sica</li><li>Design visual (p&oacute;steres, artigos, gr&aacute;ficos informativos etc.)</li><li>Novas aplica&ccedil;&otilde;es baseadas em transmiss&otilde;es ou plataformas de redes sociais</li></ul><p>Estas categorias servem como um guia para as propostas. In humans, several coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). Anyone with a creative or technical profile is welcome to apply, not only developers or health workers are encouraged to take part in this initiative.
