Rules and Terms 📜

Welcome to the Swell City Buildathon! Below are the official rules to ensure a fair, innovative, and productive competition.

1. Eligibility

• This hackathon is open to everyone—no restrictions on experience, background, or location.
• You can participate solo or in a team (max 5 members).

2. Project Requirements

• New or Existing Projects → You can build something from scratch or expand an existing project.

  • If submitting an existing project, you must specify what was developed before the hackathon and provide evidence of what was built during the hackathon.

• Tech Stack → Projects must be built on Swell. Beyond that, you can use any additional tools, frameworks, or third-party integrations.

• AI & External Tools → AI-generated code, open-source libraries, and third-party APIs are allowed. However, your submission must show originality and meaningful development.

3. Submission Guidelines

For your project to be considered, your submission must include:

• Project Name
• Elevator Pitch (≤280 characters)
• GitHub Repo (with a clear README for local testing)
• Live Product or Website Link (provide access credentials if private)
• Project Deck
• 3-Minute Demo Video (mandatory)
• Team Details (who built what)
• Optional: X (Twitter) account, additional notes

4. Judging & Evaluation

• Projects will be judged based on (criteria to be defined—highlighting this for your input!).
• Judging will be done by a panel of industry experts.

5. Prizes & Post-Hackathon Opportunities

• Prizes: (To be determined—highlighting this for you to fill in.)
• Winning teams may receive grants, incubator support, or integration opportunities with Swell.

6. Code of Conduct

• Participants are expected to follow ethical hacking principles and ensure a fair and inclusive competition.
• Misconduct of any kind will not be tolerated.
• Depending on the severity of a violation, teams may receive warnings, penalties, or disqualification.

7. Intellectual Property & Ownership

• You retain full ownership of your project. Swell will not claim any intellectual property rights.
• By participating, you agree that Swell may showcase your project in community updates, promotional material, or future events.
