Eurekathon is a data-driven competition that addresses societal issues associated with sustainable development goals. In its 1st edition, you are challenged to develop concrete and creative solutions that contribute to healthy lives and well being for all. The objective of Eurekathon is to empower our society with innovative solutions that take advantage from data sources not usually explored for social purposes.
If you are a student or professional from the emerging areas of data science and business analytics you are welcomed and encouraged to participate in Eurekathon. You can bring your own team or apply as a team member to work side-by-side with like-minded data scientists and business analysts, in a team of 4 to 5 members.
All teams will have access to a diversity of data sources, both private and public, that can be leveraged to build analyses, models and tools. The final solutions should have a predictive side, that explores the given data sources to generate insights, and a prescriptive side, that leverages insights to make recommendations. Creativity is a key element for winning solutions.
A jury will assess the potential impact, the novelty and the analytical depth of the work developed by the teams. At the end, 8 teams will have the opportunity to present their work to the audience at “Share your Eureka”, and a prize will be awarded to the 3 finalists.
Along the journey, you will have the opportunity to attend exciting talks and get to know the data community.
The competition, held at Porto Business School, will begin at 17:00 on November 8th, 2019, and will finish at 20:30 on November 9th, 2019.
