It&#39;s the first part of <a href="https://altfuture.pt" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Alternate Future Summit</a>, a one-week long Summit that brings together the major players involved on people development: corporate thought leaders, education visionaries and ecosystem builders. Together, they will discuss how emerging technologies will shape up and assist in changing organizational processes and human behaviour to impact work and life routines. It is organized by GetBoarded with the help of AI in Africa.&nbsp; <a href="https://getboarded.tech/login" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Getboarded</a>&nbsp;is an alt-career opportunity platform, that includes various tools in the field of people development, focused on alternative career matching for students. It works not just on the knowledge skills of a person, but also personality-based transferable skills in today&rsquo;s ever-changing career and jobs landscape. It works as a SaaS (software as a service) that predicts and provides future career opportunities for students and professional using research-based predictive talent analytics and AI. Form a team and pick one&nbsp;challenge to work on.&nbsp;<ol><li>Involvement<ol><li>Fresh Hiring and Forecasting: fresher hiring and HR forecasting techniques typically include using past data to predict future staffing needs to opportunities. Build solutions that can use surveys, benchmarking and modeling techniques to estimate workforce staffing numbers. You may offer solutions in mapping opportunities.</li><li>Opportunity Planning: university career fairs are going online, internships are run remotely, and the government is rolling out wage and training subsidies to hire locals. Offer solutions to digitize and transform the processes in Opportunity discovery and matching.</li></ol></li><li>Inclusion<ol><li>Corporate Culture: often, corporate culture is implied, not expressly defined, and develops organically over time from the cumulative traits of the people the company hires. Solutions to identify, map and align corporate culture with organizational goals.</li><li>Corporate Diversity: We live in a complex, interconnected world where diversity, shaped by globalization and technological advance, forms the fabric of modern society. Solutions to support, measure and promote a diverse and inclusive workplace.</li></ol></li><li>Introspection<ol><li>Talent Appraisal: many organizations use the annual performance appraisal as a tool to inform employees of the value added by their work throughout the year. Often this is the only feedback employees receive from a manager all year. Propose Solutions to a dynamic, conversational Talent Appraisal mechanism.</li><li>Talent Intervention: many times there is no value in appraisals if the improvement actions are not taken. Present solutions on identifying interventions and PIP techniques that can help make effective strategies towards talent intervention.</li></ol></li><li>Insight<ol><li>Attrition Risks: some of the reasons that are creating attrition risk issues are job hopping, employee low job satisfaction, low compensation, disputes with colleagues and supervisors etc. The word &#39;attrition&#39; refers to gradual loss of employees over time. Any solution that improved employee engagement and well being can be considered.</li><li>Career Planning: career planning is non-linear and short lived in the current fast changing times, what could be the short- and long-term career goals to set, and the actions you can take to achieve them? Devise solutions supporting career planning customized to market, interests and ambitions.</li></ol></li><li>Innovation<ol><li>Learning and Development: recent years have witnessed a growing interest in life-long learning (LLL) as an indispensable element of policy responses to the future of work. Develop solutions as response to concerns surrounding economic competitiveness, globalization, unemployment and theimplications they held for human capital development.</li><li>Succession Planning: succession planning is the strategy for passing on leadership roles, and often the ownership of a company, to an employee or group of employees. Despite its undeniable relevance, it seems to be luxury strategy for organizations. Offer solutions that could be of great value to organizations even the ones with fewer resources available for knowledge management programs and the formal, structured development of employees.</li></ol></li><li>Impact:&nbsp;<ol><li>Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): CSR is a type of business self-regulation with the aim of being socially accountable. There is no one &quot;right&quot; way companies implement this. Propose solutions to quantifiably measure social impact of such activities.</li><li>Primary Education: solutions around primary education and learning continuity in the times of disruptions.</li></ol></li><li>Imagination: open proposals in the domain of people development or social impact: Education, Human Resources, Circular Economy, Social Communication, Open Sciences.&nbsp;</li></ol>&nbsp;<h3>&nbsp;&nbsp; Why?</h3>Technologies emerge every day at a fast pace. Some may say they are the future but the truth is the future is happening right now. It&#39;s up to us, as a society to take advantage of technology and use them as tools to solve global problems. &quot;Don&#39;t be afraid of what technology will do in your place, ask what technology can do for you&quot;.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<h3>&nbsp; Who can participate?</h3>At GetBoarded, we believe in people and prioritise soft skills. <h2>🤔 FAQS</h2> <h3>1.Whom is the ALT+F Hackathon for?&nbsp;</h3>The ALT+F Hackathon is a challenge for 3 different kinds of audiences:&nbsp;<ol><li>Tech community (programmers, designers, hackers, startups, social innovation, etc.) enthusiastic about emerging technologies;&nbsp;</li><li>Social sciences community with a focus on professionals, students and enthusiasts of Human Resources, Psychology and Education;</li><li>Business community (students, graduates and enthusiasts) of Business, Management, Economics, Marketing and others.</li></ol>If you have several ideas that might provide a solution for one of the challenges but you don&#39;t understand anything about programming or if you&#39;re a programmer but have no connection with people development or social impact projects, you can still participate by finding a team with complementary skills.&nbsp;You can either sigh up by already having a team or as an individual. What is the recommended team size?</h3> The teams must be of 4&nbsp;to 6 members and as interdisciplinary as possible.&nbsp;<h3>3. How will the Hackathon work?</h3>The ALT+F Hackathon is a 100% online and borderless challenge. A prep-session will be held before the start of the Hackathon to clarify all the rules, timelines and provide further instructions for the event days.&nbsp;Apart from the prep-session, information regarding Training Sessions and other relevant details will be released through the organization&rsquo;s communication channels.From the 1st to the 10th of September there will be a period of Training in which everyday there will be sessions on topics that can help you structure your project. During this period the teams are expected to reunite and work on their project to meet the due date. On the 10th September at 23:59 WEST the teams have to submit their deliverables and on the 11th and 12th of September with the pitch sessions. Winners will be announced during the 17th September, the Conference Day of The Alternate Future Summit 2021.&nbsp; <h3>4. What kind of projects are expected in this hackathon?</h3> We expect the projects to be created on this Hackathon to be creative and innovative technological solutions for the problems presented in the challenges. The project includes two deliverables: a Minimum Viable Product in the adequate format for the solution proposed and a pitch deck with information about the problem, the solution provided and a plan for its execution.We encourage the team to strongly structure the project regarding the possibility to be executed in the future. <h3>5. What is the evaluation criteria?</h3><h3> </h3>There are 4 evaluation criteria.&nbsp;<ul style="font-size: 16px;"><li>Innovation and uniqueness with respect to existing tools in the same area:&nbsp;<ul style="font-size: 16px;"><li>Judges look for innovative and creative problem solving. Desired solutions should present new approaches to solve a problem; new technologies to address the challenges; platforms to enable automation of processes; and any other smart and cost-effective means to work smarter. Solutions may present new or improved technologies, or existing technologies utilized in a meaningful manner to the people development field.</li></ul></li><li>Relevance and Added Value:<ul><li>The solution proposed must be an adequate fit to the category and sub-category in which they are applying. This applies to the context in which the solution is going to be proposed including factors as: necessity, adaptability of the people to that solution and expect outcomes.</li></ul></li><li>Sustainability:<ul><li>Participants will be asked to reflect in advance on how their solution can be tested for quality assurance, and have sustainability requirements. How viable the project is to be scaled and its feasibility. &nbsp;</li></ul></li><li>Team and individual performance:<ul><li>This requirement is evaluated in two ways: attendance to the activities promoted by the organizers under the umbrella of the ALT+F Hackathon and the Alternate Future Summit and also through the pitch. Participants need to show their enthusiasm and compromise to the topic through attendance to the Training Sessions and also to the Alternate Future Summit (Tech Talks and conference Day). At least 50% of the team should be represented in each session otherwise you&#39;ll have 0 on this category despite your pitch performance.&nbsp;</li></ul></li></ul> <h3>6. What are the prizes?</h3> The ALT+F Hackathon includes 7 different challenges and each one will have one winner. The winning team of each challenge wins 1000.00$. Plus, every challenge may have additional prizes to be announced depending on the challenge sponsor.<h3> </h3><h3>7. Can I participate in more than one challenge?</h3> No. You can only participate in one challenge.&nbsp; <h3>8. Can my team submit more than one project to a challenge?</h3> No. We expect the projects to be of the most quality possible, thus requiring every time and attention for one.&nbsp; <h3>9.
