HACKATHON FAQ
Delighted to welcome you as a hacker for our 3rd edition of ETHDam, taking place this April 12-14 2024, in Amsterdam at Pakhuis de Zwijger. We’ve put together this guide to help you navigate through the logistics, the events and quirks of this conference and hackathon.

LOGISTICS
Platform
Two platforms to answer all your questions, and ensure a smooth hackathon for all.
Taikai - where all hackers must register and submit their projects
Discord - to chat with the team and ping mentors
Tickets
Hackers do not need to purchase a ticket
Hacker need to apply via Taikai and will be approved in waves, every 2 weeks
Once approved, hackers will be able to redeem their free hacker ticket on Moongate
Regular attendees need to purchase tickets via Moongate

Sleeping at the venue
Yes, hackers can spend the night at the venue on Friday and Saturday night, don’t expect anything fancy. We will transform the 2nd stage (5th floor) on both nights, into a chill space for you to rest between intense coding sessions. No showers available. Pack a toothbrush, deodorant and a sleeping bag.
On the ground floor, you can find lockers to safekeep your belongings, a 2EUR coin is required (it is returned to you once you are done using it).

Recordings, photos and video
All talks and panels will be recorded and live streamed. We will also have a dedicated photographer.
If you don’t want to be photographed, mark yourself with our “no photography” sticker.
THE HACKATHON
Rules
The hackathon begins at 10:00 on Friday 9th of May and ends at 10:00 sharp on Sunday 11th of May. All projects must be submitted on Taikai.
Judging will take place on Sunday 11th of May
ETHDam is taking place IRL - all team members must be hacking in person
You can not copy, use or submit another's team’s source code
All code must be written during ETHDam, do not submit code previously written
The judges decision are final in the determination of the prizes
Bounties are in the hands of our partners
All hackers must hold a valid ticket for ETHDam, to be claimed on Moongate
You must comply with all instructions provided by ETHDam organisers and volunteers, and respect our Code of Conduct
Requirements
Project / Team name.
Short description about the project.
1 Discord username for the team’s person of contact.
Repository with project’s code/ link to open source code
Video demo (90 seconds) and/or Presentation (5 slides max).
The contract address(es) or website URLs of your deployed application, either on a testnet of your choice or mainnet of a platform of choice (NOT mandatory)
The OtterTrack
The OtterTrack is a special track during the hackathon dedicated to existing projects.
Project must sign up via Taikai and fill in a separate form.
Projects must add at least one feature during the 48 hour hackathon
Present and pitch on stage a polished product on Sunday 14th of April
Only 1 member needs to be present in person
There are no bounties for this track, they are competing for glory and looking for future investments.
Mentors and Judging
All mentors are present in person and online, via Discord to support the teams throughout the hackathon
The judging will take place on Sunday 11th of May in the afternoon
The judges will rate all projects from 1 to 5 on these 5 criterias
Technical - "How technical was this to build?"
Use Case - "Is this solving a problem?"
Value proposition - "How unique and innovative is this project?"
Market/business - "Is this interesting for investors? Are the the business model and token economics are appealing?"
Wow factor - "This project is completely out of the box, blew your mind"
