SharePlate AI – Turning Surplus into Support

SharePlate AI is an AI-powered food redistribution platform designed to reduce food waste and fight hunger by connecting food donors with NGOs, food banks, shelters, and community kitchens.

Restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, event organizers, and individuals often have surplus food that could benefit people in need. However, a lack of coordination, limited visibility, and time-sensitive food availability can prevent this food from reaching the right recipients.

SharePlate AI addresses this challenge by enabling donors to register available food, including quantity, type, location, and expiry or safe-consumption time. Using AI-powered matching, the platform recommends suitable recipient organizations based on their needs, proximity, capacity, and urgency. It also helps prioritize time-sensitive donations, identify potential duplicate requests, and coordinate pickups and deliveries.

Built using OutSystems, the solution provides a centralized dashboard for managing donations, tracking their status, coordinating volunteers, and monitoring social impact. Organizations can view reports on food rescued, donations fulfilled, and estimated waste prevented.
