Description

Project Overview

Kinship is a modern, modular hub for graduate and alumni cohorts built for bootcamps, creative academies, colleges, and university departments. Unlike traditional corporate alumni networks that rely on dry résumés and static job boards, Kinship keeps graduates connected through active discussion, AI-guided mentorship, peer opportunities, and reputation-based credentials. It offers a professional and minimal design built for real engagement.

The Core Idea

Cohorts build deep bonds during a course, but those connections fade fast after graduation. Current solutions fall short: WhatsApp groups get cluttered, LinkedIn feels too corporate, and standard directories are rarely visited.

Kinship solves this with a dedicated, multi-tenant "campus" that graduates actually want to visit:

  • Hybrid Discussion Spaces: Real-time synchronous chat paired with structured threaded forums for long-term knowledge retention.

  • AI-Guided Mentorship (Swipe Matching): An algorithm that actively pairs junior and senior alumni based on goals, industry, and availability.

  • Job Engine with Active Push: Opportunities are pushed directly to the right profiles rather than sitting on a static board.

  • Credentials & Reputation: Status-based badges like "Trusted Expert" and "Active Contributor" that lift engagement by ~71%.

  • Spatial Audio Rooms (Beta): Drop-in virtual rooms where avatars can move to converse with classmates in real time.

  • AI TL;DR Summaries: Automatic recaps of meetings and long threads to ensure nobody falls behind.

  • Privacy-First Access: Unique personal invite codes, SSO integration, and strict data sovereignty.

Built with SiteLab

Kinship was designed and scaffolded using SiteLab.

The Landing Page & Admin Toggle Console

The landing page targets academy directors and alumni coordinators using CRO best practices. Its centerpiece is an interactive Admin Console, featuring a toggle panel where admins can instantly enable or disable modules (chat, AI mentorship, Web3 badges, push job board, spatial audio). A live client-portal preview updates in real time, perfectly demonstrating the platform's modular, white-label, multi-tenant architecture.

Validation & Traction Strategy

  • Sandbox Trial Campaign: Directors can request a temporary demo directly via the landing-page access-request modal.

  • Cohort Beta Launch: Partnering with 3 local bootcamps to launch Kinship for graduating cohorts. Success metrics rely on Daily Active Users (DAU) and the volume of collaborations or mentor matches initiated.

  • Waitlist Urgency: Gated signups using unique invite codes to mirror the platform's native exclusive-access system.

Business Model Canvas

  • 1. Key Partners: Bootcamps, creative academies, university alumni associations, and SSO/database providers for graduate registry verification.

  • 2. Key Activities: Product development (AI matching, modular portal), customer success (institutional onboarding), and community management.

  • 3. Key Resources: Proprietary matchmaking algorithm (IP), white-label multi-tenant portal engine, developers, and community strategists.

  • 4. Value Propositions:

    • For Institutions: High-density engagement tracking, verified employment outcomes, and a major lift in NPS with zero manual admin work.

    • For Graduates: An exclusive, spam-free space for mentorship and opportunities with a portable verified reputation.

  • 5. Customer Relationships: Direct B2B onboarding, self-service admin customization, and peer-to-peer self-governing cohort communities.

  • 6. Channels: Direct demo requests, content marketing (success stories), and graduate-led referrals.

  • 7. Customer Segments: Bootcamp directors, academy owners, university alumni coordinators, and short-course leads.

  • 8. Revenue Streams — Subscription SaaS (B2B, EUR):

    • Community Starter (€99/mo): Up to 1,000 members, hybrid chat, standard opportunity board, shared subdomain.

    • Network Professional (€299/mo): Unlimited members, configurable modules, AI mentorship matching, Web3 reputation badges, white-label custom domain.

    • Institutional Enterprise (Custom): Multi-tenant network, deep database integration, custom SSO (Okta, Azure AD), server API access.

Economic Viability & Key Risks

  • Strong Unit Economics (LTV > 3× CAC): Institutions retain software long-term despite high student turnover. A Community Starter plan held for 3 years yields an LTV of ~€3,500, while Network Professional yields ~€10,700, comfortably supporting a B2B CAC of €400–800. Multi-tenant Enterprise deals scale this account value even further.

  • Key Risk: Engagement decay as graduates settle into their careers.

  • Mitigation: Leveraging status-based reputation badges and AI TL;DR digests to keep notifications hyper-relevant, pushing low-noise, high-value content that continually pulls users back.
