🔍 Description

HyperChat is a drop-in, p2p chat feed, in the spirit of OG BitMEX, built for trading platforms on Hyperliquid, starting with the flagship HyperCore exchange.

The platform's market pages are assigned corresponding "Rooms". After signing-in with their wallets, chat participants can use .hl names they own on HyperEVM as handles & display flair according to trading stats, such as their PnL.

This allows markets to feel more fun & social without leaving the dApp.

🛠️ How It Works

HyperChat employs the native browser side-panel to stay out of the way of the fast-moving charts, but also to scale for multi-monitor setups.

The Chrome Extension functions as a light node client speaking the Waku protocols and subscribing to each platform's content topics on a corresponding Waku cluster.

The full Waku node peers serve as both chat buffers, storing and providing recent message history, as well as public relays, passing submitted messages to the browser nodes to verify. New operators should be able to join the cluster & help host by running the configured peer node as a Docker container.
