What Does It Do?
Unified Six is a website designed to store and share local news, aiming to help users stay informed and safe by reporting crimes or dangers they encounter. Additionally, it features light-hearted news to provide a refreshing break from the severe information.
Inspiration
The inspiration for this project comes from various sources, including local and national news, missing persons websites, and other related platforms. This allowed us to create a resource that helps locals discover content in one place and be active community members.
How We Built It?
- HTML, CSS & Javascript
- Figma, Adobe Illustrator & Procreate
Challenges
1. With Replit now charging for connecting domains to their application, we could not link our domain name to our project.
2. Attempting to implement MongoDB with little experience.
What Did We Learn?
- Some of our members learned how to use GitHub.
- Some members learned how to work in a cross-functional team, pushing them to be proactive, efficient in time management, and considerate of members' skills for collaboration.
- A deeper dive into front-end/back-end.
