<h2>⚡ETHAccra Hackathon 2025⚡</h2><p>The ETHAccra Hackathon brings together the Ethereum community of developers to compete and build innovative projects using the Ethereum blockchain and connecting the blockchain technology to real use cases. </p><p>Everyone is able to apply to be a hacker but the organisation will manually select and curate the candidates. Entries for all hackers will be free of charge.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><h2>⚡Audience⚡</h2><p>Bringing together developers and builders from diverse backgrounds, the hackathon will encourage the creation of new applications that can help address local problems in West Africa and advance the Ethereum community in West Africa.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><h2>⚡Scope⚡️      </h2><p>The scope of this hackathon is to build and present projects that can have impact in real use cases. </p><p>The hackathon will be “Open Track”, there are no “predefined” themes, but every project should be related to the Ethereum ecosystem.</p><h2><br /></h2><h2>💡Deliverables 💡</h2><p>Submitted projects should have:</p><p>📌 Project / Team name</p><p>📌 Short description about the project (A max 280-character or less description of your project (it should fit in a tweet!)</p><p>📌 How it's made Tell us about how you built this project; the nitty-gritty details. What technologies did you use? How are they pieced together? Did you do anything particuarly hacky that's notable and worth mentioning?</p><p>📌 GitHub repository or a link to the source code (must be public). Where we can go to view the source code, development activity, or design history. You'll need Ethereum testnet for this.</p><p>Ethereum faucets give out small amounts of free Ether, mainly for testing. Pick a testnet Blockchain, like Goerli, Holesky or Sepolia. Make sure you have an Ethereum wallet. Go to the faucet, put in your Ethereum address, and do any tasks (like a CAPTCHA). After a little while, your wallet should have more funds. Remember, only share public addresses, not private keys. It's a good idea to get your test ETH before the hackathon, as faucets can sometimes be unreliable. <h2><strong>What  is ETHAccra?</strong></h2><p>ETHAccra is a community-led hackathon focused on the Ethereum Community.</p><p><br /></p><h2><strong>Who can participate in  ETHAccra's Hackathon?</strong></h2><p>ETHAccra welcomes a diverse range of attendees, specifically catering to university students, developers aiming to delve into blockchain development, seasoned web3 builders, and individuals equipped with skills in areas such as project management or UI/UX.</p><p><br /></p><h2><strong>How do I register ?</strong></h2><p>Registration is open and ongoing at the moment on our TAIKAI platform . Or simply click on the link https://taikai.network/ethaccra/hackathons/hackathon2024 to register. </p><p><br /></p><h2><strong>How are applicants selected?</strong></h2><p>ETHAccra curators aim at selecting the best, most participative and motivated, programmers and creatives. For this they rely on what candidates fill in their profiles (their pitches and personal bios) and evidence of engagement in previous editions (if applicable). CVs don't matter, please don't paste full CVs as an application pitch. What matters is your potential and your passion for technology, no matter your level of experience.</p><p><br /></p><h2><strong>How much does it cost?</strong></h2><p>ETHAccra is free for all selected candidates.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><h2>Is it a '24 hour' Hackathon?</h2><p>No, it isn't. Due to regulatory law, the venue cannot stay open overnight. The venue will close at 9 pm and reopen at 7 am. However, projects can continue outside the venue during those hours if hackers wish to do so. </p><p>We apologise for any inconvenience and hope this regulation changes in the future!</p><p><br /></p><h2><strong>Can I register our company employees in bulk?</strong></h2><p>No. Candidates must register and apply individually (they are evaluated and selected individually too, see above).</p><h2><br /></h2><h2><strong>Do you pay for the attendees' transportation and/or accommodation costs?</strong></h2><p>No. However, there may be discounts and other partnerships. If so, these will be announced in the months leading to the event, so make sure you follow us in one of the social networks where we're present. You can also choose to sleep in the venue. This one is guaranteed, with some caveats (see below).</p><p><br /></p><h2><strong>Can I bring a guest to the event?</strong></h2><p>No. All attendees must apply to the event individually.</p><h2><br /></h2><h2><strong>I was selected but can't attend the event, what do I do?</strong></h2><p>Please let us know. Spots are limited and it would be nice if another candidate could go instead (but no, you cannot choose who that candidate might be).</p><p><br /></p><h2><strong>When will the schedule be available?</strong></h2><p>A detailed schedule will be available closer to the event, on our website and or overview section.</p><h2><br /></h2><h2><strong>Is there food and beverages at the event?</strong></h2><p>Food and drinks will be provided free for all attendees. We'll be providing lunch and dinner daily, and there will be random snacks and beverages available .</p><h2><br /></h2><h2><strong>Do I get a participation certificate at the end?</strong></h2><p>Yes, we can provide participation certificates on demand in the days following ETHAccra. Just make sure you actually participate.</p><h2><br /></h2><h2><strong>Are there hotels nearby?</strong></h2><p>ETHAccra's venue ISSER  Conference Hall , University of Ghana - Legon  is in a very central location in the city, so there are plenty of hotels around. TBD more details will follow soon.</p><p><br /></p><h2><strong>Is there Wi-Fi at the event?</strong></h2><p>Of course. There will also be a limited number of ethernet outlets in the hacking area, but teams doing projects for the 48h competition have priority on these.</p><p><br /></p><h2><strong>Are there prizes for winning one of these activities?</strong></h2><p>Yes there are and details regarding prizes will be communicated soon. </p><p><br /></p><h2><br /></h2><h2><strong>I am interested in exhibiting or becoming a sponsor, what do I do?</strong></h2><p>If you are interested in sponsoring ETHAccra, please contact us info@ethaccra.xyz for a prospectus and sponsorship application instructions.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><h2><strong>Can I leave a few flyers on the tables to advertise my group/event/company?</strong></h2><p>That would depend on what you're advertising. The only hard rule on this is that you talk to us first by contacting us at info@ethaccra.xyz </p><p><br /></p><h2><br /></h2><h2><strong>I'm a tech guy but I also do recruiting. Is it OK if I talk to someone at ETHAccra to see if they're interested in working with me?</strong></h2><p>You cannot engage in direct recruitment activities during ETHAccra. This is one of the core rules of the event. The attendees don't enjoy unsolicited targeting, and we don't want to turn the event into a battlefield for hires. Trust us, it's better for you, not only for attendees. Having said this, it's OK if the interest is mutual and both parties want to talk (meaning the attendee approaches you). It's definitely NOT OK if you're preaching to the crowd or fishing around for interest.</p><p><br /></p><h2><br /></h2><h2><strong>Do I need to know how to code to participate?</strong></h2><p>Yes, for solo hackers, having a technical background is essential as it's necessary for the hackathon. However, for those joining teams, coding skills are not a strict requirement. If you bring other skill sets, like research, project management, pitching, design, or any other relevant expertise that aligns with the project's requirements, you are more than welcome to be part of a team.</p><p><br /></p><h2>Can I build my project solo?</h2><p>Yes, absolutely! Whether you're a solo developer with a one-person team or just prefer the individual challenge, building solo is entirely welcome.  </p><p><br /></p><h2><br /></h2><h2>How do I contact mentors from ETHAccra?</h2><p>Mentors are readily available for assistance and can be reached on our website info@ethaccra.xyz .
