<h2>RULES &amp; TERMS</h2>Before reading the Rules of this Challenge, we kindly advise you to check our General User Terms &amp; Conditions and Privacy Policy of the TAIKAI Platform. <h2>CONDITIONS FOR ENTERING THE CHALLENGE</h2><ul><li>Participation in this Challenge is free</li><li>The Innovator must read these Rules, and fully accept their terms in their entirety without reservation before its Registration and participation in the Challenge.</li><li>Participation to the Challenge is under the conditions of: being any person on legal age</li><li>There is only one entry per person in the Challenge</li><li>Innovators must form teams of 2 to 6 members.</li></ul> <h2>REGISTRATION &amp; ACCESS</h2><ul><li>For his/her Registration to the Challenge, each Innovator must open a user account on taikai.network</li><li>They must then register for the Hackathon via our registration form</li></ul> <h2>DURATION &amp; TIMING</h2>The Challenge shall take place from the 23rd of July to the 6th of September, 2024.<ul><li>Registration will begin on the 23rd of July</li><li>Project submissions will take place from the 8th of August to the 4th of September at 1:00pm EDT</li><li>Registration for participation will close on the 26th of August at 1:00 PM EDT</li><li>Project selection will occur between the 4th of September and the 6th of September</li><li>Winners will be announced on 6th of September</li></ul> <h2>DELIVERABLES</h2>The Project Deliverables must absolutely respond to the Challenge definition and rules described in the tab “Rules” on the Challenge page. Between the 8th of August and the 4th of Septmber, the Innovators will have to publish on the platform, their Project Description, comprised of:<ul><li>Description that includes a brief explanation of what the extension does and what makes it unique.</li><li>Screenshots or pictures from the Project Demo</li><li>Source Code link</li><li>Technology Stack used</li></ul> Besides Project Description, participants should attach to the Project:<ul><li>Slide Presentation about the project and/or</li><li>Screenshots, Images, Diagrams and Videos</li></ul> Innovators guarantee that the content of the Project consists only of their Team’s contributions and none others. If there are suspicions that contributions are from a third party, all Innovators from that Team may be disqualified. <h2>SELECTION PROCESS</h2><ul><li>The Project Selection is scheduled from the 4th of September to the 6th of September.</li><li>A qualified set of Judges will choose the best projects will be composed by the Organizer and will be Web3 &amp; development experts, to be announced soon.</li><li>The voting process is transparent and auditable as we use a token based voting mechanism to select the best projects, using an EOS.IO public blockchain, available at any time during the competition.</li><li>Only 5 Projects will be awarded, ranked according to the KAI tokens received from the backers/judges, to be announced on 6th of September, 2024.</li></ul> <h2>PRIZES</h2>The deliverance of a Prize at the end of the Challenge is subject to, and is performed only when subjected to:<ul><li>The full abidance to the Rules determined for the Challenge;</li><li>The presentation of documents from each Winner</li></ul> Every Innovator recognizes and accepts that the Organizer’s responsibility with regards to the Reward is its deliverance to Winners only. All extra costs related to Prizes will, unless otherwise stipulated in the Rules, be charged to the Winners. Neither coverage nor refund will be owed as such. Winners will be informed by the Organizer about their Prize via email, at the latest, 15 days after the end of the challenge, to their accounts communicated upon Registration on the taikai.network. The Innovator commits to respect and follow the directions indicated in this email. However, in the event where a Winner does not take possession of the Prize, for reasons unaffected by the Organizer, if there is a 2-month delay since the reception of the email, the Organizer has the right to expire the Prize from the Winner. Winners of the 5 Projects will be awarded with the following prizes, according to their ranking:🥇 1st Place - $5,500🥈 2nd Place - $3,000🥉 3rd Place - $2,000🏅 4th Place - $1,250🏅 5th Place - $750 <h2>LIABILITY</h2><ul><li>The responsibility of the Organizer cannot be engaged in case of breakdown or dysfunction of the used telecommunications network, whatever the cause is, which would have the effect of damaging or preventing the identification or the access of the Innovator on taikai.network or any other useful web site for the participation in the Challenge.</li><li>The participation in the Challenge implies knowledge and acceptance of the characteristics, limitations and risks of the internet network and the technologies which are linked to it, particularly in consideration of the performances, in response time, in the security of the software and the computer hardware towards diverse potential attacks such as viruses, logic bomb or Trojan horses and in the loss or diversion of data. Therefore, the Organizer cannot be held responsible for the damages caused to the Innovator because of these accepted characteristics, limitations and risks.</li><li>The Organizer cannot, in any case, be held responsible for any damage caused by the defect or the delay of delivery of the Projects, in particular for the refusal to consider late submissions, or for any damage caused by the impossibility to connect to the relevant websites or to upload/download correctly any delivery, the defect or the delivery time of any email sent during the Challenge, or for any damage caused by any hurdle preventing the Innovator attending or participating in the whole or part of the Challenge.</li><li>The Organizer cannot be held responsible in case of total or partial modification, suspension, interruption, adjournment or cancellation of the whole or part of the Challenge for reasons beyond their control. In such a case, the Organizer will inform the Innovators as soon as possible via the taikai.network or by any means it sees fit.</li><li>The Organizer cannot be held responsible for the consequences of a disqualification of an Innovator, and/or a Team, due to a violation of the Rules, and/or in case of rejection of a Project due to noncompliance with the Rules.</li><li>The Organizer shall not be liable for any trouble, action, claim, objection, claim related to the use of the Projects of the Organizer not foreseen by the Rules or in connection with the negotiation, execution or performance of contracts that the Organizer would sign with the Innovators.</li><li>In any case, the Organizer will not be held responsible for the delivery of the Prizes nor in case of impossibility for a Winner to benefit from his/her Prize for circumstances beyond Organizer’s control. The responsibility of the Organizer cannot be engaged in case of loss and/or deterioration of the Prize by post or any third similar service provider and more generally if the Winner does not receive his/her Prize. The responsibility of the Organizer cannot be engaged in case of incidents or of damages of all kinds, which could arise because of the enjoyment of the awarded Prize and/or because of its use.</li></ul>

<h2>What is LATAM Onchain Open Hack?</h2>LATAM Onchain Open Hack is a free, virtual Web3 hackathon spanning 4-weeks of technical talks, workshops, competitions, and coding. 200+ participants will enjoy workshops, demos, community events, learning opportunities, and endless development for 4 weeks. The goal is to build something of value that integrates Base Blockchain, SQD Network, and will be an open source project. <h2>Who should participate in LATAM Onchain Open Hack?</h2>LATAM Onchain Open Hack is targeted at creative minds with a hacker spirit (in the classical definition of the word). Anyone with a technical profile is welcome to apply, not only engineers (eg. web designers are welcome too). <h2>What does Onchain mean?</h2>"Onchain" refers to data, transactions, or activities that occur directly on a blockchain network. When something is onchain, it means it is recorded, verified, and stored on the blockchain, ensuring transparency, immutability, and security. This contrasts with "offchain," which involves activities or data managed outside the blockchain, often to reduce costs or increase speed. Onchain operations are fundamental to decentralized systems, where trust and verification are maintained by the distributed network of nodes. <h2>Who can Register?</h2>LATAM Onchain Open Hack is open to anyone and everyone that wants to build something amazing with Web3 &amp; Open Source technologies. While we don't take applications, we encourage talented hackers based in LATAM to register and build the best solutions possible together with your friends, colleagues, and team members. <h2>How much does it cost?</h2>LATAM Onchain Open Hack is free for everyone. <h2>Can I register our company employees in bulk?</h2>No. Candidates must register individually. <h2>Do I have to build something to register?</h2>Yes. Only builders that plan to dedicate their time and energy building something should register for the hackathon. Our workshops and all pitches will be available for non-registrants either during or after the event to view. <h2>Will the workshops &amp; ceremonies be recorded?</h2>Unless the speaker states otherwise, every talk will be recorded and available online in the weeks following the event. <h2>Why is the official language English?</h2>Although most of our participants are from LATAM, we have builders participating from all over the world. English is usually well understood and accepted. Our main motivation is technology and talent, and these are global attributes, so our main 'language' is what we use to code. English is not the only language at the event, though. The event is bilingual, so there may be talks held and content released in Spanish. These will be properly identified in the event's schedule. <h2>Do I get a participation certificate at the end?</h2>Yes, we can provide participation certificates on demand in the days following LATAM Onchain Open Hack.
