Rules&Terms

Registration and Access:

Each participant must register on the TAIKAI platform, where hackathon registration and project submissions will be managed. To register for the Hacker Lab, participants need to:

  1. Create an account on the TAIKAI platform.
  2. Register for the hackathon by creating or joining a team (2-5 people). If you don’t have team, you can contact with us on Discord or physically at our venue.


Hackathon Rules:

Project Submission: Participants or teams must submit their project for judging by the specified deadline. Projects must be original, and any third-party assets used must be appropriately credited.

Project Requirements: Projects must incorporate Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) technology in some form. The use of the skills and knowledge gained from "Typescript/Rust Smart Contract 101" course is encouraged, but not mandatory.

Code of Conduct: Participants must adhere to a high standard of professionalism and respect towards fellow participants, organizers, sponsors, and judges. Any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.

Intellectual Property: Participants retain ownership of the intellectual property of their projects. However, participants grant the Hackathon organizers a non-exclusive licence to showcase and promote their projects.

Judging: The judging panel will evaluate projects based on predefined criteria, including innovation, impact, technical proficiency, and presentation.

Taxes and Legal Compliance: Winners are responsible for any taxes associated with the prizes and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.


Hackathon Submission Requirements:

  1. Codebase
    • GitHub repository of the full codebase
      • Please keep the repo public for judges to review
    • Readme describing the project in detail (this is essential to evaluating your project)
      • Summary, overview, images of the demo, etc.
  2. Video demonstration (max 3 min)
    • A short video to demonstrate the full functionality of your project
  3. Presentation (Optional)
    • Pitch deck
      • Introduce your team, why you built (motivation/problem), what you built (solution), demonstration video, and future roadmap of the project
      • This could be used later if selected as a finalist. You can update the deck before the demo day.
  4. Live website of the project for the public to test/demo
  5. All assets have to be submitted on TAIKAI platform !!!

  • Problem & Solution (Idea)
  • Business Model
  • Strategy & Plan
  • Complexity
  • UX & UI
  • Backend & Frontend Code
