Ownership: Participants retain ownership of their intellectual property (IP). However, by submitting an idea, participants grant AOC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, display, distribute, and create derivative works based on the submission for the purposes of judging, promoting, and publicizing the SMEThon.
Third-Party Rights: Participants must ensure their submissions do not infringe on any third-party rights, including but not limited to copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, and confidentiality obligations.
Disclosure: Participants must disclose any pre-existing IP used in their submissions and provide documentation proving their right to use such IP.
Personal Information
Collection and Use: Participants agree that AOC may collect, use, and store personal information provided during registration and participation for the purposes of organizing, administering, and promoting the SMEThon.
Data Protection: AOC will handle personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws and will implement appropriate measures to protect such information.
Confidentiality
Participants should avoid disclosing any confidential or proprietary information that is not necessary for the submission.
AOC is not responsible for protecting confidential information shared during the hackathon.
