<h2><strong>RWA Tokenization Hackathon 2024</strong></h2><p>Join us for the RWA Tokenization Hackathon 2024, an event under the PRR Program that brings together business strategy and cutting-edge technology. Organized by the Nova Blockchain Club, Data Science Knowledge Center, and Layer X, and proudly sponsored by Ripple, this hackathon challenges participants to innovate in the field of tokenized Real World Assets (RWAs).</p><p><br /></p><h2>Scope</h2><h3>Challenge 1</h3><p>In the construction industry, payments between clients and construction companies are typically made in tranches, based on different stages of the project. However, this system often lacks transparency, leading to conflicts regarding timelines, work quality, and payment schedules.</p><p><u>Challenge Overview</u>: Participants are tasked with designing a reliable system that ensures a balanced relationship between the client and the construction company. We expect the system to:</p><p><br /></p><ul><li>Provide real-time transparency for both parties, offering a clear view of the project’s progress and work quality.</li><li>Ensure that payments align with actual milestones, reducing the risk of premature payments or delays.</li><li>Incorporate mechanisms that allow for better communication and accountability, ensuring the client’s expectations are met at every stage.</li></ul><p><br /></p><h3>Challenge 2</h3><p>Property transactions traditionally involve the sale of the physical property itself. However, in many cases, stakeholders are more interested in trading the rights associated with the property—such as usage rights, construction rights, or income rights—without transferring full ownership.</p><p><u>Challenge Overview</u>: Participants are tasked with creating a governance system that allows property rights, rather than the property itself, to be traded in a transparent and balanced way between stakeholders. We expect the system to:</p><p><br /></p><ul><li>Clarify the distribution of property rights, reducing conflicts between owners, investors, and other stakeholders.</li><li>Ensure fair and transparent decision-making in property management, particularly when different rights are involved.</li><li>Enable the effective commercialization of partial property rights, such as usage rights or income generation rights, in co-investment or passive income scenarios (e.g., shopping centers or parking lots).</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><h2>Categories</h2><p><br /></p><p>🏅 <strong>Best Business Strateg</strong><strong>y:</strong> Awarded to the team with the most well-defined and innovative approach to market entry or growth, showcasing strategic thinking and potential for real-world impact.</p><p>🎖️ <strong>Best Proof of Concept:</strong> Awarded to the team that delivers the most functional and promising prototype, effectively demonstrating the product’s potential and feasibility.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><h2>Audience</h2><p><br /></p><p>The RWA Tokenization Hackathon 2024 welcomes students from business and informatics, Web3 enthusiasts, professionals, and companies interested in exploring blockchain applications for real-world assets.</p><p>We welcome both team and individual registrations, as we'll be happy to assign individuals to teams later. Participants without Web3 experience are highly encouraged to join—small onboarding workshops will be available to help introduce them to key topics.</p><p><br /></p><h2>Deliverables</h2><h3><strong>Mandatory Deliverables:</strong></h3><p><strong>Project Proposal/Whitepaper <u>(Both Tracks)</u></strong> - A clear document outlining the problem being addressed, the proposed solution, the blockchain component being used, and the expected impact.</p><p><strong>Proof of Concept Demo (<u>Technical Track</u>)</strong> - A functional prototype that showcases the key features of the solution, integrating blockchain elements.</p><p><strong>Business Strategy Document (<u>Business Track</u>) - </strong>A well-structured go-to-market strategy that covers market entry, user acquisition, partnerships, scaling plans, and monetization. <h3>Best Business Strategy - 1000€ </h3><p>Awarded to the team with the most well-structured approach in terms of market entry/growth. </p><ul><li>The team demonstrates a clear grasp of the target market, including pain points and market opportunities.</li><li>The team has a well-defined strategy for market entry, including key channels, partnerships, or communities.</li><li>Clear approach on how to onboard and retain users, especially bridging the gap for those unfamiliar with Web3 technologies.</li><li>A sustainable and scalable revenue model that aligns with the product and its market positioning.</li><li>Thorough research on competitors and the team’s unique positioning within the market.</li><li>Identifying and addressing potential risks, including legal, technical, and market challenges, particularly around the blockchain space.</li></ul><p><br /></p><h3>Best PoC - 1100€</h3><p>Awarded to the team presenting the most functional prototype that demonstrates the product’s potential.    </p><ul><li>The prototype works (as far as possible) and demonstrates key features of the product in a tangible way.</li><li>The PoC shows technical viability, using blockchain efficiently (smart contracts, decentralized systems, etc.).</li><li>Ability to integrate with other systems, networks, or platforms, whether Web2 or Web3.</li><li>Usability for both Web3 experts and normies, with minimal friction during user interaction.</li><li>The PoC presents a novel approach or innovative use of blockchain technology, particularly in areas like decentralization, tokenomics, or security.</li><li>Demonstrates how the PoC can scale technically, potentially growing into a full-fledged product in the future.   </li></ul><p> </p>

<h2>What is RWA Tokenization Hackathon?</h2><p>This event is a mix between a hackathon (focused on technical solutions and Proof of Concepts) and an ideathon (focused on business strategy and innovative ideas). Participants will work on blockchain-related challenges, particularly in the area of Real-World Asset tokenization.</p><p><br /></p><h2>Who can attend RWA Tokenization Hackathon?</h2><p>Both students and skilled professionals are welcome. We also encourage non-Web3 native participants, as we will offer workshops to onboard them to blockchain technologies.</p><p><br /></p><h2>What if I don’t have a team but want to participate?</h2><p>No worries! If you register individually, we’ll match you with a team based on your skills and preferences. However, the whole event will be done in a team so registering with one saves you time.</p><p><br /></p><h2>Will there be different tracks for technical and non-technical participants?</h2><p>Yes, there will be two different challenges that you can solve and two primary tracks: one focused on developing a technical Proof of Concept (PoC) and another focused on creating a business strategy.</p><p><br /></p><h2>Can I bring a guest to the event?</h2><p>No. All attendees must apply to the event individually.</p><p><br /></p><h2>I was accepted but can't attend the event, what do I do?</h2><p>Please let us know. Spots are limited and it would be nice if another candidate could go instead (but no, you cannot choose who that candidate might be).</p><p><br /></p><h2>Will there be a live stream from the event?</h2><p>Yes, live streaming will be available. The feed will be focused on the activities taking place in person, for both the opening and closing ceremonies. </p><p><br /></p><h2>Why is the official language English?</h2><p>Although most of our participants are based in Portugal, we have attendees coming from all over the world. English is usually well understood and accepted. Our main motivation is technology and talent, and these are global attributes, so our main 'language' is what we use to code. </p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><h2>Is there Wi-Fi at the event?</h2><p>The main Wi-Fi at our university is eduroam which might be difficult for you if you're not a student. </p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><h2>What are these other activities?</h2><p>The main activity is, of course, the hackathon competition, where your team works on a project during the week and presents it on the final day. Throughout the week we will have different workshops to have you acquainted with the biggest variety of topics covering the challenges.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><h2>How can I participate in these other activities?</h2><p>You will be provided with a link before the event so you can register for those of your interest.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><h2>Does that mean I can invite someone who's not attending RWA Tokenization Hackathon?</h2><p>No. The other members in your team must also be approved attendees. And to be approved they must apply for the event (individually).</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><h2>Are there prizes for winning one of these activities?</h2><p>Yes, participants in our hackathon will have the opportunity to compete for two distinct awards: one for the best business strategy and another for the best proof of concept, recognizing both innovative thinking and technical execution.</p><h2><br /></h2><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>
