The data to support these decisions already exists, but it’s often fragmented, technical, and hard to use in practice.

At AquaHub, we help local governments turn that data into action. By leveraging satellite data, we enable decision-makers to detect potential conflicts in water systems and plan infrastructure more effectively in water-sensitive areas.

As the demand for housing and development grows, alongside the need for fair and sustainable water allocation, it’s becoming urgent to equip planners with the right tools.

Our web platform makes satellite-derived insights accessible and usable for everyday decision-making. Today, AquaHub is the only platform that combines Copernicus Earth observation data with Irish infrastructure planning workflows in a simple, actionable way.

At AquaHub, we want to help secure equitable and efficient access to water

Water resources are under increasing pressure as the natural water cycle becomes more unstable. Floods, droughts, and extreme events are happening more often and with greater intensity across Europe and beyond. For local governments, planning how water is allocated and managed in the years ahead is becoming urgent. At the same time, policymakers face growing pressure from EU and national regulations to deliver fast and reliable decisions.

The data to support these decisions already exists at both national and European levels. Yet it is rarely used to its full potential. When it is used, it often remains complex and difficult to interpret, making it hard for public servants to rely on it with confidence.

Infrastructure and urban planning decisions are not straightforward. A new warehouse might bring jobs and economic growth, but it can also raise concerns about noise, environmental impact, and water use. Add regulatory constraints like the EU Water Framework Directive and 2030 targets, and decision-making quickly becomes overwhelming. It is difficult to keep the bigger picture in focus.

So the question is simple. How can we help local governments use space data to make better infrastructure decisions while securing the future of water resources? How do we empower decisionmakers to manage water resources, as fair and equitable as can be?
