SpotGuard: Deep Intelligence for a Resilient Planet

Predicting Soil Water Index for Global Agricultural Resilience

The Challenge: Disaster Monitoring (The "Hidden" Drought Crisis)

Effective disaster monitoring in agriculture is incredibly difficult because the most devastating threats often happen out of sight.

  • Massive Economic Impact: Annually, European farmers lose around 28 billion dollars from drought.
  • The Visual Lag: By the time a farmer sees crop stress—such as wilting and yellowing—the yield loss is already irreversible. The damage is done before the warning arrives.

  • Surface Blindness: Standard satellite indices miss the critical root zone entirely.

Our Solution: Remote Root-Zone Intelligence

SpotGuard delivers deep monitoring with a completely hardware-free solution. Because there are no physical probes to install, calibrate, or maintain, there is zero hardware investment required, and it is operational from day one.

How We Do It:

  • TerraMind ViT Engine: The platform is powered by TerraMind, a custom-tuned Vision Transformer architecture that is purpose-built for agricultural earth observation.

  • Multi-Layered Data: SpotGuard utilizes data from Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, and COP-DEM elevation to generate its models.

  • Actionable Financial Insights: We calculate the precise intersection area where detected risk events overlap with field boundaries. This allows farmers to budget irrigation costs down to the euro for a 3, 7, or 10-day horizon.

  • Risk Mitigation: By identifying the specific fraction of yield at risk, users can make data-driven decisions. Preventing even one single day of root-stress can preserve 10-15% of the total harvest value.
