Description

Our team has tried to solve 3rd challenge regarding space debris issue. The presence of space debris threatens vectors and satellites because of the risk of collision that they can generate. Our solution is to use a machinery in which there are nets that can be deployed in order to capture the much space debris as possible. When the net is full, it goes to a safe orbit becoming a storage of material. After that process, materials under nets bacome a product which can be recycled for construction of future lunar hub. The amount of recycling materiral is high, in particular aluminium and steel, but even some rare earth materials. This process promotes sustainability and custs costs of transporting materials. Furthermore, the advantages are relevant for european spacial activities because there is a reduction of space debris in orbits so that vectors can go ahead with the activities reducing risks.

Our team is composed by 6 officers of Italian Airforce Academy, a lower student (S.Ten. Gripshi Iris), two electronic engineering students (Asp. Vitale Alessandro Salvatore, Asp. Bruno Simona), a aerospace engineering student (Asp. Procacci Francesca), a civil engineering student (Asp. Marsicano Martina) and a pilot student (Asp. Chirivino Antonio). We are from different background in order to consider many aspects of the project.
