Biography

I obtained my MSc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) in 2011. In the following year, I joined the Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES) at INESC TEC where I have been developing most of my research activities. In September 2014, I started my PhD degree in Sustainable Energy Systems under the MIT|Portugal doctoral program at FEUP, which now I am finishing. During my PhD, I was also an invited researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL).

I am a highly motivated academic and research engineer with strong experience in electricity markets, demand response, operation and planning of distribution networks. In these areas, I have actively participated in several European R&D projects (e.g., H2020 AnyPLACE, H2020 FEEdBACk), U.S. R&D projects, and consultancy activities for distribution and transmission system operators (e.g., EDP and REN), and manufacturing companies. In addition, I gave advanced training and presented technical workshops within the field of electricity markets and demand response both in Portugal and abroad.

Currently, I am a researcher at INESC TEC, where I am involved in European H2020 FEEdBACk and ERA-NET GReSBAS projects. My main responsibilities are project management, preparation of proposals for R&D / consultancy projects and writing of deliverables, technical reports, and scientific papers.
