Axolotl Preserve

A system for tracking, care and protection of Mexican axolotls and their habitat through blockchain technology.

 The system would be made up of the following elements:

1. Locator devices:

     GPS or RFID locator devices would be placed on a representative sample of axolotls in their natural habitat.

     The devices would collect data on the axolotl's location, depth, temperature and activity.

2. Sensor network:

     A network of sensors would be installed in Xochimilco's canals to collect data on PH, temperature, salinity, amount of phosphates and atmospheric pressure.

3. Blockchain database:

     The data collected by the tracking devices and sensor network would be stored in a secure and immutable blockchain database.

4. Analytics Platform:

     An analytics platform would be developed to visualize and analyze the collected data.

     The platform would allow scientists, natural resource managers and the general public to identify behavioral patterns, threats to axolotl populations and areas of greatest risk.
