Hi! I’m Eimy Murcia Valverde, a geographer and geomatics specialist from Costa Rica, currently based in Córdoba, Spain. I’m passionate about using spatial technologies to support conservation, landscape resilience, and community-based environmental management.
I have experience working with tools like QGIS, Google Earth Engine, ArcGIS, and R Studio, applying them in projects related to water management, land use change, forest monitoring, and ecosystem fragmentation. My background includes both academic research and technical work in Costa Rica and Spain — from wildfire mapping and biodiversity monitoring to urban GIS and road infrastructure validation.
I’m especially interested in combining satellite data with local knowledge to support sustainable decision-making. I believe in science that is collaborative, accessible, and rooted in the territory.
