Description

The Code and Pricing Generator links product configuration and technical specifications to commercial pricing. Each choice — optic, output, colour temperature, finish, control — follows rules already defined and returns two things at once: a unique product code and a price consistent with the commercial structure.

A quotation no longer depends on parallel spreadsheets or on two people reading the same luminaire differently. Sales, quotation, and the online store share the same logic. What is configured is what is coded, and what is coded is what is quoted.

Less manual work. Fewer gaps between the technical sheet and the final figure. Less time between the first option and a closed quotation.

Description

The Code and Pricing Generator is software that automates the path from a product’s technical configuration to its commercial expression. It is built for businesses where a luminaire is not a single shelf item, but a set of decisions: family, size, light distribution, power, colour temperature, colour rendering, finish, diffuser, control, and accessories. Each of those decisions changes what the product is and what it should cost.

Instead of separating technical work from commercial work, the generator treats them as one flow. On one side is the configuration, with the specifications that define the product. On the other is the pricing structure, with tables, rules, and conditions already approved. In between, business logic applies those rules consistently: it validates combinations, builds the code, and calculates the value. The result is a quotation with an accurate price and a unique product or SKU code, both generated from the same configuration.

The code stops being an improvised label. It becomes the identity of that variant: what was requested, what can be manufactured or ordered, and what the store, the quotation, and the order all recognise as the same item. When the same configuration is requested again — by another salesperson, on another channel, or later in e-commerce — the code and the price do not diverge.

The price stops being a sum redone by hand on every request. The commercial structure is defined in advance: what belongs in the base, what is an option, what depends on a rule. The generator applies that structure the same way every time, so two people configuring the same product arrive at the same figure. Consistency does not sit in the memory of whoever is quoting. It sits in the rules.

This shortens the path from configuration to final quotation. The salesperson does not rebuild the data sheet, hunt for the code on a side list, or recalculate the price in a separate file. Quotation receives a configuration that is already identified and already priced. The online store can present the same variant with the same SKU and the same pricing logic. Sales, quotation, and e-commerce stop being three versions of the same product.

The gain is operational, and it is also a gain in accuracy. There is less transcription, fewer similar codes for different products, and fewer quotations in which the technical text and the value do not match. The process moves faster because the repeated work — applying the rule, composing the code, closing the price — sits with the system, and people keep the decision the rule does not replace: what to configure for that space and that client.
