Focused on delivering innovative digital solutions for the healthcare sector, a team from Sanday B.V. decided to extend this innovation into the nonprofit and charity world. 

Initially focused on supporting ACREDITAR, a charity caring for children with cancer, the project identified key operational challenges and designed solutions to make processes more agile, efficient, and reliable. VoluntAI is an AI platform designed to empower volunteer organizations in managing, monitoring, and coordinating their activities, harnessing the power of artificial intelligence. 

Problem Statement

Volunteers are at the core of ACREDITAR’s mission, yet managing schedules, attendance, and communications is increasingly complex. Fragmented workflows across email, messaging apps, and paper forms create missed messages, last-minute substitutions, and administrative overload. VoluntAI leverages AI to suggest optimal shift assignments, automate replacements, analyze volunteer reports using speech-to-text, and flag critical incidents or emotional cues, reducing friction and improving care quality.

Our Proposal

VoluntAI serves as a centralized hub for all users. Volunteers can check in/out, manage availability, and submit AI-assisted reports. Coordinators validate AI-generated schedules, adjust assignments when needed, and oversee interactive calendars. Administrators manage volunteers, locations, and shift templates, while dashboards provide insights into attendance, engagement, and coverage. This structure ensures reliability, efficiency, and meaningful engagement, allowing human effort to focus where it matters most.

Technologies, Integrations and AI

Built on OutSystems Development Cloud, supported by Microsoft Azure, Azure AI Foundry, AWS, and Atlassian, the platform integrates AI agents for shift allocation, report summarization, natural language processing, sentiment analysis, and intelligent notifications.
