Curya generates optimised schedules for shift-based teams in minutes. This project is Curya's Fairness Calculator: the layer that measures how fair and how legal those schedules actually are, and makes the trade-offs behind every rota transparent.
It reads a schedule imported as CSV, JSON or XLSX, or straight from Curya and returns an overall fairness score that blends labour-law compliance with how evenly the hard shifts (nights, weekends, short rests) are shared across the team. Each employee is ranked and tagged Balanced, Watch or Strained, with the main driver of their penalty, and anyone who breaks a rule or carries too much of the load is flagged before the schedule goes out.
Everything is tunable without code. You set the night and morning windows, the legal limits (minimum rest between shifts, max continuous work before a break, whether days off must be consecutive), and for each fairness signal a direction, a tolerance threshold and a weight. A single slider decides how much the final score leans on labour law versus team fairness, and every score recomputes live. The full report exports to PDF in one click.
