
Joel Alves Costa Filho is a person fascinated by the sky, space activities, sustainability and innovative projects. He holds a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering from Universidade de Brasília (UnB) (2017) and an MSc degree in Astrophysical and Instrumentation for Space at Universidade de Coimbra (UC) (2021). Besides, he also holds a Green Belt - Six Sigma certificate (2017). During his undergraduate studies, he was an intern at the Chemical Propulsion Laboratory of the UnB, working with CDF simulations. He was a research investigator (2020) at the Geophysical and Astronomical Observatory of the University of Coimbra under the project "Space Weather, Space Weathering & Space Debris", working with space weathering of materials in Earth orbit. He was a Product Development Engineer at S&DG Consulting Unipessoal (2021 - 2022), working with CFD simulations. Currently, he is a PhD candidate in Physical Engineering at UC, a fellow researcher at IA (Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço) and CENTRA (Centro de Astrofísica e Gravitação da Universidade de Lisboa) and member of ReneWaste.
