Solution

Carbon is a platform that allows individuals to claim Offset Carbon based on the measurement of the amount of CO2 emissions from their vehicles. This is done through an exchange space, for buying and selling these tokens, using BTG dol. All of this is possible thanks to the combination of an IoT device, a web platform, and the infinite possibilities of Blockchain.

Carbon collects carbon emission data from cars using IoT, encouraging the usage of electric or hybrid cars. The collected data is interpreted and can generate Offset Carbon on the blockchain, which can be sold on the platform to companies that want to even their carbon footprint. 

The system functionalities include:

    • An IoT device used to measure carbon emission, based on a CO2 sensor and an accelerometer;
    • An exchange system for buying and selling Offset Carbon;
    • A managing area to access how many Tokens you can claim, and a dashboard that provides predictions generated by an AI regression model to visualize long-term impact;
    • A transaction system entirely based on the usage of BTG dol - a dollar-backed stablecoin -, ensuring reliability, security, and transparency to all the transactions.

Market-fit and economic viability

According to a NeoCharge survey, out of the 124,361 electrified cars registered in Brazil, about 69% (86,143) are hybrid or mild hybrid, which represents a significant portion of the market.

Another example of application for our product is in cases such as Coca-Cola FEMSA, which acquired 20 light and electric trucks with the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 28% by 2030. Our solution can help companies meet their environmental agendas, making it easier and more rewarding.

Mynt

One of our main focus is to solve the lack of reliability some people have on using crypto, so that it stop being a barrier for them to claim Offset Carbon. With that in mind, all of the transactions on the platform are made using BGT dol, and that's because BTG dol is a stablecoin that is, not only tied with American dollar - which gives us more stability - but brings Mynt's Security and Reliability with it. Thinking of that, as we promote the usage of BTG dol, and make it simpler for the users to understand it's value on the market, we believe to be contributing to the movement of involving more people in the world of Blockchain and Cripto in general.

Cartesi

Our platform infrastructure is entirely build around Cartesi Machine and Rollups, and the solution utilizes of Cartesi's big advantages on scalability and computing power. With that in mind, we developed an Artificial Intelligence algorithm using Cartesi technology, focusing on innovating in the ambiental assets scenario- more specific, in Offset Carbon. This AI can predict a user's assets over a much longer period of time than currently available on the platform. For example, in one week it is possible to obtain estimates for one month up to one year. The viability of our solution is based in the fact that Brazil is one of the most friendly countries in terms of adoption, legally, crypto.

Whit that in mind, the complexity of our solution's architecture wouldn't be possible without Cartesi's infrastructure and efficiency.

GEAP/ 7 visions

Our solution is based on getting more people on board in the sustainable assets issue, focusing on using technologies and approaches that turn Offset Carbon more reliable. In other words, we make possible that natural people/ individuals can claim Offset Carbon by measuring their cars amount of CO2 emissions, and sell it to companies that want to offset their carbon footprint. And GEAP's situation is all about that- dealing with barriers that stop people from using Offset carbon, like reliability. Our roadmap includes eventually integrating out platform's functions with the "Bolsa Verde", since out user's journey includes exchanging their Offset Carbon eventually, and it could be done through an integration with "Bolsa Verde". Besides that, our social impact is very valuable for us, and our efforts are based on Brazil's goal on cutting our CO2 emissions in 50% by 2030, with the bigger and global goal to combat climate change, using Blockchain in our favor.
