Inspiration
Our inspiration stemmed from the common experience of having a crush and struggling to find conversation topics.
What It Does
BaddieBase provides conversation points of interest to help facilitate engaging discussions with baddies.
How We Built It
We used React.js for the user interface, MongoDB for the database, and Neurelo to generate our APIs.
Challenges We Faced
Time constraints prevented us from connecting our backend to the API and hosting it on our domain. Additionally, we faced difficulties in hosting the website on a server with a custom domain name.
Accomplishments
Our idea garnered significant interest at the hackathon, with many individuals recognizing us as "the BaddieBase team." We take pride in our visually appealing UI, characterized by effective color contrasts and a distinctive logo design. This project represented a steep learning curve, allowing us to achieve a milestone in building a full-stack project using new tools within a tight timeframe.
What We Learned
We deepened our understanding of React.js and RESTful APIs. We also learned the structure of MongoDB databases and discovered how innovative branding can attract significant interest, paving the way for future ideas.
What's Next?
Our next steps involve completing the backend, hosting the application online, and expanding our database.
