Inspiration

Canada is home to many sports team however our opportunities are limited by the quality of coaching available. What if there was a world where this wasn't such an impediment? Our team at ScoutChain was motivated by that idea and were led to develop a web app which allows users to receive automated analysis on their match videos and personalized comments from professional scouts.

What it Does

ScoutChain is a decentralized platform for scouting and developing football talents. Coaches and players are available to upload their match footage which is processed and . On top of it all, they are able to receive feedback from top scouts in the industry who are reimbursed for their efforts.

How We Built It

We built this by leveraging many of the latest cutting edge technologies and platforms. We use Next14 as full-stack with Typescript and Tailwind and a Node.js backend. Our match footage analysis model was created using YOLO and trained using Roboflow. MongoDB and Cloudinary were used to store statistics relevant for each stat and Neurola was used for API management. To protect user data and provide exceptional personal user experience, we used NEAR for discrete payment.

Challenges We Ran Into

We ran into challenges training our model for match footage analysis as it took very long.

Accomplishments That We're Proud Of

We're proud of the fact that we were able to create a working prototype that combines sports, blockchain and full-stack development to tackle a niche need.

What We Learned

We learned how to integrate blockchain within our web applications.

What's Next?

Potentially adding more sports and making process of uploading vods more seamless.
