Discord Farmer

Hello,

Aidan, Raha, Gurkarman, and I decided to make a discord bot. 

We programmed a discord bot to be an idle farming simulator, where over time your crops grow and you are able to sell your crops for money. With the money you are able to purchase upgrades to increase your profits! We were inspired by games like Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon, and wanted to create a Discord bot as it was an accessible project format that can be used for future use as well.

This bot features MongoDB to store user information like virtual money and modifiers. Coded in VSCode in javascript/NodeJS. We were initially very unfamiliar with the language and the workings of a Discord bot, as well as some inconsistencies in the bot's mechanics and systems. We worked through it together and doing some research and discussing our project as a group, we were able to finish with a satisfactory project.

When we formed this group to enter the hackathon, our main goal was to finish a project and have fun doing it. In terms of these personal goals, I believe we have succeeded with flying colours. Though not the most technically impressive or mind-blowing invention, we were able to learn about javascript, how discord bots work, and how to code a project as a team. We had a lot of fun working together and are very proud of this fun little project we made.
