Please familiarize yourself with the rules. Here you will learn what you need to submit, what the judging criteria are, what you need to know about IP rights, and much more.

“Backers” refers to the jury responsible for selecting the winning projects.

“Challenge” refers to the challenge that is organized by the challenge owners Solana Ecosystem and Persistence. Please be aware of the fact that we have different challenge categories.

"Categories" refers to the different challenges: Solana Ecosystem and Persistence. 

“Prizes” refers to the prizes awarded to the winners at the end of the challenge.

“Projects” refers to the team and to all submissions, original ideas, documents or other materials (such as presentations, videos, etc.) uploaded to the website by innovators in response and as a solution to this challenge;

“Innovator” refers to any person registered in accordance with the rules who takes part in the challenge.

"Mentors" refers to the mentors responsible for the mentorship e.g. during the ideation phase. 

"Match-Making" refers to the section where you can promote your skills and form teams. 

What you need to submit?

1. Prototype or MVP

A working prototype about your scalable NFT service where you basically simulate the functionality, the design and the tech being used of the intended final solution. Submit a first version early and ask for MENTOR feedback. 

Remember: Done is better than perfect!

Note: For the Persistence Challenge you need to submit a project that is ready for implementation. Submit an MVP ideally with use of the Persistence SDK for Challenge 1 and 2. For Challenge 3 you can use any chain. The winner will receive the whole bounty offered by Persistence, worth of $50,000.

2. Slide Deck
This document should address the problem, solution, benefits and competitive landscape (high level). It's highly recommended to summarize the entire idea on the very first slide (e.g. exec summary). Use an illustrative and clear approach to showcase your solution and highlight its contribution to the NFT ART Basel Community. Visual representation of your solution is encouraged (i.e. drawings, images, graphics, etc.). Explain how you incorporate Partner Technology X, Y or Z. 

3. Submission by 11 October 2021, 18:00 CET
Integrate a short video with a 3 Min Elevator Pitch: Explain your idea in your own words, showcase your prototype/ MVP and the WHY of your solution. Make it interesting and creative. 

What are the general judging criteria?*

1. Problem solution fit: (30%)
Does the solution solve a problem? Is the functionality working? Does the solution stand out compared to existing solutions?

2. Feasibility / Business Model (30 %)
Will it sell? What is the business potential? Is it legally possible? Could this become a startup?

3. Technology: (20%)
The technologies provided by partners are a key ingredient that enables new solutions. How well does the solution use the sources? How technically impressive was the hack? Did the technology involved make you go "Wow"? 

4. Novelty Factor (20%)

How unique & interesting is the idea? How much edge does the idea have?

*The may be slightly adapted depending on the challenge you enrolled. 

General Rules

1. We permit individual work, but we encourage interdisciplinary teams of 3-5 members.

2. Third party tools, libraries or usage of own software is allowed. 

3. For the technical challenge: Usage of at least 1x ecosystem technology is mandatory.

4. Usage of old projects is allowed, but must contain 1-2 new functionalities. Judges will only consider new functionality introduced during the hackathon in determining the winners.

5. One project can be submitted to multiple categories.

IP

1. You maintain ownership of your creations and related intellectual property rights regardless of your success with the challenge.

2. You can share your submission under an open source license.
