GOAL: Support active aging through an app that assist senior citizens in taking medication correctly and on time.
Medz is an app that allows users to insert their medication in an easy way trhough scan of the medication barcode or manual insert.
Users have the possibility to insert a photo of the medication, the amount of medication they have, when and how many pills they need to take, the duration in which they need to continue taking the medication and if the medication needs to be prescripted by a doctor.
The app warns participants of the medications they need to take, through pontual notifications. If needed, users can connect the medications alerts to their own calendar and activate an alarm clock. Users can mark on a checkbox when they take their medication and a meds diary is given so users can write how they feel the moment they took the medications or for example for senior citizens that have memory loss problems to remember they already took that medication.
Moreover, the app warns users of when the medication is ending and in case of a medication that needs a prescription, the app alerts the users to schedule an appointment with their doctors, offering the possibility to call a contact defined by the user such as the user health center.
As senior citizens tend to have physiological and psychological problems inherent to the aging process, the app tries to be as simple as possible, use legible font in an appropriate font size, and offers personalization so that users can use it according to their needs.

Mockups
Bruno has received a new medical treatment for diabetes and plans on doing a schedule to take the medication using the app. In the first place Bruno inserts his new medications by scanning the barcode on the products. He then completes the information and creates a treatment using those medications.
Mockups that illustrate the user story are presented below:
The medication and treatments are inserted separately because in that way users can insert one medication for several treatments and can easily adjust one treatment.
We are designing the mockups of the envisioned app. There are some screens missing (treatments page, insert medication treatment, treatment journal, calendar and profile) that due to time limitations could not be made on time but we are planning on doing.
