Description

Modern battlefields face growing threats from autonomous drone swarms, while airports, power plants, and public venues remain increasingly vulnerable to terrorist drone attacks, a danger recently underscored in Poland, Denmark, Germany and many other EU countries1. With two-thirds of combat drones now using fiber optic guidance to defeat electronic jamming, traditional countermeasures are becoming obsolete.

SOON THIS WILL NOT BE ENOUGH!

LUMEN - Advanced Anti-Drone Defense System

An example of a LIDAR set-up.

LUMEN is a modular high-power laser system engineered to neutralize fiber optic-guided drones, protecting personnel and strategic infrastructure through a multi-stage interdiction process. By targeting drone optics or control fibers, the system disables drone guidance and coordination without kinetic engagement. This laser network forms an adaptive tactical mesh that reduces latency between detection and interception, and strengthens resilience against electronic warfare and swarm attacks. The system operates through integrated data fusion with existing battlefield alert sensors, since very effective methods of FPV and even fiber detection already exist2.

Given the modular nature of the system it can be deployed across multiple platforms: fixed installations for infrastructure protection, ground vehicle integration for mobile defense, and portable configurations for rapid deployment scenarios. Future applications extend to space operations, including satellite optical system denial and secure point-to-point communications.

Competitive Edge and Scalability:

  • Strategic Supply Chain Independence: LUMEN's key competitive advantage lies in complete European supply chain sovereignty. The European Union already possesses all necessary capabilities and industrial partners which are the world leaders of their field (i.e. Luxottica, Zeiss, ABB, Leonardo, etc...).
  • No True Competition in Fiber-Guided Drone Interdiction: Current market solutions address electronic warfare or kinetic interdiction. LUMEN represents an effective solution specifically designed to counter fiber optic-guided drones in a fast-reusable and cost-effective way, creating a unique market position in an emerging threat category3.
  • Dual-Use Market Opportunity: Military applications include base protection, convoy security, and critical infrastructure defense. Civil sector applications encompass public event security, power plant protection, and airport perimeter defense against unauthorized drone incursions4.
  • Scalable Architecture: LUMEN's modular design enables deployment across any platform without significant integration costs. The system interfaces with existing sensor networks and command infrastructure, eliminating the need for comprehensive hardware overhauls.

Future-Ready Technology: As space becomes increasingly contested, LUMEN's core technology enables satellite optical system denial and establishes the foundation for secure space-based laser communications. LUMEN is engineered for the warfare paradigms of tomorrow.
