Daedalus Defence develops innovative drone interception systems to safeguard critical infrastructure against unauthorized aerial threats. Our solution combines AI-driven detection with a dual-mode drone: an “Analysis Mode” for real-time monitoring and forensic evidence collection, and a “Capture Mode” equipped with a deployable net to neutralize hostile drones safely. Unlike existing military-grade systems, our approach is cost-effective and tailored to civilian needs. At the same time, it avoids the shortcomings of cheaper off-the-shelf solutions such as jammers or improvised net launchers, which often fail against autonomous flights or lack the agility to intercept modern drones. This balance of affordability and effectiveness positions our system uniquely in the market. 

The political context further underlines the urgency: in the wake of the war in Ukraine, the destructive potential of drones has become evident daily, while incidents over European airports and government buildings have exposed vulnerabilities at home. EU initiatives such as the NIS2 directive and national regulations in Germany are tightening security obligations for operators of critical infrastructure. With traditional reliance on the United States in defense matters increasingly uncertain, Europe is seeking resilient domestic solutions.
