Privacy-Preserving Emergency Funding
The Private Peace Project aims at offering a direct and private way to finance humans in need, removing the middle-man and maintaining dignity.
Initially, you can prove that you are from Palestine or Ukraine. We are hoping to add others.
Blockchain -> cut out the middle man
ZK -> prove that are in need, without revealing your identity or where you are.
Encryption -> send encrypted proof inputs to those in need, without anyone knowing who you are sending it to
> Who is behind your project?
We are a team of 3 Northern Irish developers - Taylor, Cat, and Jordan.
> What is unique about your team?
We have completely different skills. Taylor comes from account abstraction & game development, Cat develops private smart contracts, and Jordan is a fullstack engineer in web2 - this is his first web3 hackathon! We originally bonded over growing up during The Troubles and empathize with other struggles in the world.
> What is your solution?
Privately send funds to people all over the world who have privately verified they need them.
> Has this been done before?
Not at all. We could compare it to Tornado Cash, but you cannot claim your funds back - the proof inputs are encrypted against a receiver's private key, and only they can claim it back.
> Why hasn't this been done already?
It's hard to say. I think people are afraid of privacy after the TC scandal, even though it can and should be used for good.
