Challenge: Most small coffee shops in Latin America face a series of challenges that limit their growth and sustainability. These issues include the lack of a loyalty system to retain customers, high costs associated with the use of disposable cups and the absence of an efficient and secured system to track customer information. 

Additionally, many of these coffee shops have not implemented eco-friendly practices, which could be negatively affecting their brand perception in a market that is increasingly conscious of environmental impact. 

They are also missing out on opportunities to generate additional income through DeFi protocols.

Solution: We are developing a solution that creates a similarly convenient yet environmentally friendly experience by reducing reliance on single-use plastic containers. Our digital product enables users to make a deposit of USD into a smart contract for a reusable cup, withdraw their coffee, and return the cup within 2 weeks (14 days).

If the cup is returned, the deposit is refunded to the user's wallet, allowing free use of the reusable container. Additionally, while the user has the cup, their deposit is invested in AAVE, generating returns.

This system also benefits coffee shops by leveraging blockchain technology to track customer behaviors and the volume of plastic reduced per user. Such data can support loyalty programs, offering free coffee after a certain number of purchases or cryptocurrency rewards to the top three users who have reduced the most plastic in a month. 

This economic incentive encourages users to adopt more environmentally responsible behaviors, seamlessly integrating sustainability into their daily routines.
