Project: SusuChain - Decentralized Savings for Africa
The Problem (Ghana's Context):In Ghana and across Africa, millions rely on informal "Susu" savings circles and collectors. While culturally ingrained, these systems are plagued by risks: collectors can abscond with funds, record-keeping is opaque, and there is no recourse in case of fraud or dispute. This lack of security and transparency prevents many from safely building their financial futures.
Our Solution:SusuChain is a decentralized protocol built on Base that reimagines the traditional Susu model for the modern era. We provide a secure, transparent, and self-custodial platform for personal and group savings, eliminating the risk of fraud and putting users in full control of their funds.
How It Works Technically:SusuChain leverages a powerful, sponsor-aligned tech stack to create a seamless user experience for both crypto-natives and absolute beginners:
Base L2: Provides the low-cost, high-speed blockchain infrastructure necessary for frequent micro-transactions.
Base Account & OnchainKit: Enables gasless transactions and seamless onboarding via social logins (like Google), abstracting away blockchain complexity for new users.
USDC: Provides a stable, digital dollar equivalent, protecting savings from local currency volatility.
For Web2 Users (New to Crypto): Sign in with Google, get a smart wallet and ENS name automatically, fund it with a debit card via Base Pay, and start saving with gasless transactions. They only see USDC moving.
