Description

AgroWater is a platform that solves a critical gap in organic agriculture — the lack of real-time monitoring of irrigation water quality.

Farmers irrigate their crops up to 120 times per season without knowing whether the water is clean or contaminated. A single pollution event upstream can destroy an organic or Demeter certification that took years to build — in just one day. Existing solutions are slow, expensive, or require complex infrastructure, leaving farmers to rely on delayed lab tests or no monitoring at all.

AgroWater addresses this by using EU space technologies, including the Copernicus Programme and Sentinel-2, along with climate data such as ERA5, to continuously monitor water quality at the farmer’s exact location.

The farmer simply selects their field, and the system automatically tracks water conditions. If everything is normal, the system remains silent. The moment water quality drops below defined thresholds, an instant alert is sent — allowing the farmer to act before damage occurs.

At the end of the season, AgroWater generates a historical monitoring report that proves water quality compliance with organic and Demeter standards — providing essential documentation for certification and export.

The key innovation of AgroWater is not just using satellite data, but transforming complex space data into a simple, actionable alert on a farmer’s phone.

By doing this, AgroWater directly addresses the second CASSINI challenge — Tracking and preventing water pollution  — by enabling real-time detection of water quality changes and preventing contamination before it impacts food production.

AgroWater turns uncertainty into one simple signal — an alert instead of a disaster.

We are a multidisciplinary team from FINKI and the Faculty of Architecture at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, combining technology, data, and design to turn complex water data into simple decisions.

  • Ognen Mladenovski — Founder, CEO & Full Stack Developer — The backbone of the platform, turning the vision into a working product from the ground up.

  • Tamara Stojanoska — CTO & Data Analyst — Processed and analyzed the satellite data that powers every water quality alert in the system.

  • Sara Andonovska — CMO & Graphic Design — Designed the visual identity of AgroWater and shaped how the product communicates its message to the world.

  • Evica Isaevska — CFO & Business Consultant — Built the business model, defined the revenue streams and made sure AgroWater is not just a great idea but a viable company.

  • Marko Mijoski — CEO & Full Stack Developer — Drove the product development on the technical side while keeping the team aligned on the bigger business picture.

  • Ana Marija Utevska — Marketing Manager — Defined the go-to-market strategy and built the approach for reaching organic farmers through trusted community channels.

  • Hristina Gjorgjievska — Data Science & Backend Developer — Builds the engine behind the platform, making sure every data point is processed fast and accurately.

  • Marija Misajlovska — Data Science & Machine Learning — Developed the machine learning models that detect water quality anomalies before they become a disaster.
