💎 Idea
FloodSense AI is an early-warning platform designed to predict floods, flash floods, and dangerous water accumulation in urban and rural areas before they happen. Every year, extreme rainfall and rising river levels cause damage to homes, roads, farms, and public infrastructure across Europe. Many local communities still react too late because warning systems are slow or fragmented.
Our solution combines satellite data, weather forecasts, terrain information, and AI models to identify high-risk zones up to 48 hours in advance. Users receive real-time alerts through a mobile app and dashboard, while municipalities can access risk maps and emergency planning tools.
FloodSense AI helps communities move from reactive disaster response to proactive prevention.

Our project uses European space technologies:
Copernicus Sentinel satellites – to monitor rainfall impact, soil moisture, water levels, and flood-prone land areas.
Galileo – for precise location tracking, allowing accurate local alerts and emergency coordination.
EGNOS – to improve navigation precision for rescue teams, drones, and field operations.
These technologies provide reliable, real-time, and large-scale environmental monitoring. By combining them with AI, FloodSense AI can deliver faster and more accurate flood risk predictions than traditional systems.
