Description

Which corridor changes are worth checking?

PowerLine Trace is a concept for Resilient Finland. It uses Copernicus Sentinel‑2 imagery to help transmission operators decide which visible ground changes near power lines warrant a closer look between routine inspections.

Hackathon prototype

We plan to compare dated Sentinel‑2 images for one Finnish corridor, show one observable surface change and one case with no usable image, and put the candidate in a simple queue for human review. A candidate is a prompt to check the evidence. Routine inspections continue as usual.

What we want to test

At the same verification budget, can a prioritised queue help operators confirm more relevant changes than simple threshold alerts? A follow-on pilot would require operator approval, corridor access and labelled reference cases. We would measure false alerts, missed observable changes and cost per confirmed case. Performance has yet to be measured.

Concept trailer. The imagery and interface illustrate the proposed workflow.

Team: We are seeking two teammates: a presenter to shape and deliver the pitch, and a developer to build and test the prototype with me.
