Smart modular panel for structural protection and

The project proposes the development and validation of a functional demonstrator represented by an intelligent modular panel, made from advanced composite materials and equipped with an integrated real-time structural monitoring system. The solution is primarily intended for protecting vulnerable areas of vehicles and equipment in the automotive field, especially components exposed to impact, vibrations, repeated mechanical stresses, temperature variations, and aggressive operating conditions. The panel will combine three main functions into a single structure: mechanical protection, structural condition monitoring, and the provision of data necessary for predictive maintenance. By integrating sensors and the data acquisition and analysis system, the solution will allow for the early identification of degradations, microcracks, deformations, impacts, or excessive loads, before they lead to major failures.
