💎 Idea
Severe weather conditions, like droughts and floods, have a significant impact on the ever-changing groundwater levels. This creates challenges when it comes to determining the appropriate depth for installing groundwater pumps. The goal of this project is to use data from satellites, weather forecasts, and other sources to forecast how groundwater levels will change over time. This predictive information will be valuable in determining the optimal installation depth for groundwater pumps.
🛰️ EU space technologies
The project relies on a combination of data sources and information, including satellite imagery for groundwater level prediction. These sources collectively facilitate defining groundwater pump instalation depth, ensuring long-term sustainability of this vital resource.
⛑️ Space for International Development & Humanitarian Aid
The project directly addresses the challenge of "Strengthening Food Security and Access to Clean Water" in international development and humanitarian aid. By predicting groundwater levels over time with satellite and other data, we help ensure sustainable groundwater use. This, in turn, reduces the risk of water-related crises, aligning with key development and humanitarian objectives.
