💎 Idea
This project harnesses the power of geospatial intelligence to revolutionize crisis management for Europe’s defence, emergency, and security sectors. By leveraging temporal satellite image comparisons, it identifies changes in landscapes to detect potential risks in dense areas, aiding first responders in planning, resource allocation, and operational decision-making during catastrophic events like earthquakes, floods, and wildfires.
Our solution facilitates integration of Copernicus satellite data with field data collection tools like Activity Info to revolutionize disaster response during catastrophic events such as floods. By leveraging satellite imagery, the tool can identify disaster-affected regions, overlay household GPS coordinates to pinpoint impacted homes, and segment the areas into operational polygons for coordinated efforts among NGOs, government agencies, and military units. Enhanced functionalities include dynamic task allocation, real-time progress tracking, and automated updates to geospatial databases. These features empower emergency teams to target data collection effectively, minimize redundancy, and ensure comprehensive coverage, leaving no affected household unaddressed. This approach not only optimizes immediate disaster response but also facilitates ongoing recovery and preparedness efforts.
