Today, climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Extreme temperatures, deforestation, ocean pollution… These are realities that will deeply shape the future of our planet and therefore, the future of today’s children.
But these topics are often presented in ways that are too complex or too abstract for them. So, why not raise their awareness differently ? Why not give them the desire to understand and take action, through play ?
That’s how ABetterWorld was born.
ABetterWorld combines learning, gaming, and real-world data. Thanks to the European satellite Copernicus, the game evolves according to the current environmental situation: if an ocean is warming or a forest is threatened, children will be able to see it directly in their game.
The player takes on the role of a small hero who cleans the oceans, replants trees, and protects animals. Their goal ? To restore the planet’s balance, mission after mission. The game is designed to be intuitive and immersive, with simple gameplay, colorful pixel-art visuals, and a positive atmosphere that encourages curiosity rather than fear.
By playing, children develop empathy for nature, a sense of responsibility, and a better understanding of the causes and consequences of climate change.
The goal is not only to “win,” but to understand, act, and care.
From a development perspective, ABetterWorld positions itself as a sustainable educational tool. The game could be distributed for free in schools and environmental organizations, with a business model based on:
educational partnerships (schools, communities, NGOs),
premium modules to explore specific themes such as biodiversity or recycling,
and eventually, a mobile version to reach a wider audience.
Our goal is not just to entertain, but to create a positive social impact. Every child who plays learns to observe, thinks, and acts for a better world.
The children of today will be the changemakers of tomorrow. With ABetterWorld, we want to plant a seed, a seed of curiosity, responsibility, and the desire to take action for the planet.
Because taking care of the Earth begins with understanding why it needs us.
