Problem:
Many incidents occur in the countryside due to the lack of information concerning the environment. Victims are mostly tourists who travel to Greece and especially nature enthusiasts who love going for hiking or walking in the mountains and forests of our country. Specifically, there are some paths that are dangerous for an individual to take due to sudden bursts of fire, rockslides or even steep areas like cliffs. As a result, these people lose their lives for nothing. There is a serious gap in the security aspect of these experiences.
Solution:
TerraPath is a mobile application and a website where users can search for their destination and the algorithm finds the fastest and safest path that they can take, safely without experiencing any surprise or sudden phenomena along the way. The app uses data from the Copernicus and Galileo Satellites plus the gps system so that we can detect users live location and make a prediction with real data from the above satellites ,that we can then use to make the best possible speculation about the safest path that the user can take. We will use data like NDVI for vegetation, NDMI for Vegetation Moisture, LST for Land Surface Temperature, Land Cover and Ground Motion Velocity for rockslides.cassidini
