Conventional tourism often leads to overcrowding, environmental degradation, and economic leakage, limiting sustainability and benefits for local communities. At the same time, while more people seek travel for mental restoration and well-being, it can be difficult to find experiences that are low-impact, restorative, and located in healthy natural environments. There is currently no platform that effectively combines environmental data with personalized travel planning for mental health and well-being, enhanced by scientific insights from satellite observations.

NousEco offers an intelligent platform for regenerative and restorative travel. Leveraging geo-spatial data from EU space technologies, we evaluate environmental quality and sustainability indicators for destinations, accommodations, and activities. Our platform guides travelers toward eco-conscious stays, nature-based restorative experiences, and regenerative actions tailored to their preferences. Beyond sustainability, NousEco integrates mood and psychological insights, transforming travel into a personalized journey of well-being and mental rejuvenation.

Key features include our Mood Compass, which aligns experiences with travelers’ emotional states, environmental impact assessments with badges highlighting sustainable practices, and the NousEco Sustainable Score for businesses—empowering them to improve their eco-practices while helping travelers choose the most reliable, environmentally responsible options. By combining sustainability, psychological insights, and actionable data, NousEco transforms travel into a conscious, personalized journey, with a genuine commitment to preserving and regenerating a green Earth.

By integrating sustainability insights with mental health–oriented experiences, NousEco supports travel that is gentle on the environment and restorative for the mind, helping people connect with nature while reducing their impact.

🛰️ EU space technologies

NousEco uses EU space technologies to provide scientific insight into environmental quality and guide sustainable, restorative travel. Satellite data is also combined to provide environmental quality scores for destinations, accommodations, and activities. Key data sources and applications:

• Copernicus Sentinel-2: Vegetation indices, land cover, and water bodies are used to identify healthy green areas, quiet trails, and scenic spots for nature-based experiences.
• Copernicus Sentinel-5P: Measurements of nitrogen dioxide, ozone, particulate matter, and other pollutants inform users about low-pollution areas suitable for restorative travel.
• Galileo GNSS: High-precision geolocation is used to map hiking routes and locate natural hotspots, ensuring travellers can navigate trails safely and access restorative nature experiences.
• Copernicus Climate Data (ERA5 / Climate Monitoring): Temperature, rainfall, wind, and climate anomalies help suggest optimal travel periods and comfortable, safe destinations.
