Idea
In many sports, weather conditions are crucial to the safety, performance, and strategy of competitors. In track and field, the right wind can make the difference between a world record and a personal best; in golf, it can determine club selection and shot direction; and in mountain ultramarathons or sailing, it can mean the difference between life and death for participants. Traditional weather stations often do not provide a sufficiently dense measurement network to respond locally and in real time.
Sauna is a distributed network of environmental sensors that form an autonomous, self-configuring mesh network, enabling:
- local weather monitoring,
- analysis of microclimatic conditions,
- prediction of atmospheric changes,
- automatic alerts to users and services.
