Idea
Tabi is a social travel platform designed for explorers venturing beyond traditional tourist paths. It addresses the growing demand for real-time safety, logistics, and community support in remote or alternative travel destinations, while also providing a platform for travelers to share their experiences and connect with others on similar journeys and with followers interested in their adventures.
Travelers often struggle with unreliable information on terrain, weather, connectivity, and local conditions — Tabi solves this by crowdsourcing live route data, local insights, and safety cues from users sharing their journeys in real time, while also using real-time data from Copernicus and other data sources to provide accurate and up-to-date conditions.
Tabi also utilizes satellite-connected IoT devices which allow each traveler to share points of interest or alerts with the community, and also to push updates to their followers even when there is no connectivity.
🛰️ EU Space Technologies
Tabi leverages EU space technologies — including an IoT kit utilizing Galileo for high-precision positioning and real-time notifications, and Copernicus for near-real-time Earth observation data. These data sources enrich Tabi’s routing and alert systems by:
