Our project focuses on detecting Extratropical Cyclones (European windstorms) using advanced satellite and meteorological data from Copernicus and Galileo. The system continuously monitors atmospheric patterns such as pressure gradients, wind speeds, and cloud movements to identify early signs of cyclone formation. Once detected, the data is processed and displayed in real time on our interactive website, offering users a clear visualization of storm trajectories and intensities.
To enhance public safety, the platform also features an automated alert system that immediately notifies registered users via email or SMS whenever a cyclone threat is detected in their region. This ensures timely awareness and preparedness against potential damage. By combining space-based data, predictive analytics, and user-centered design, our solution aims to provide Europe with an accessible, accurate, and proactive tool for storm detection and disaster management, ultimately contributing to a safer and more resilient community.
